Posted on Monday, October 25 at 01:54 by sthompson
In an exclusive interview with The Globe and Mail in Beijing this week, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing made it plain that the controversial $7-billion takeover of Noranda Inc. is just a small element in a much more ambitious strategy of investment in Canada's resources sector to feed China's voracious appetite for raw materials."

The Communists have morphed into Fascists now, but there's hardly a difference between the two anyhow.

The upside for many people is that the Chinese couldn't care less about human rights or what people think, so they won't do any of this messy business of promoting democracy.

The Left will be pleased with the Chinese 'peace' like they have in Tibet.

Tell me, why do we send $50 million in aid to China every year?<p> <p>---<br>"If you must kill a man, it costs you nothing to be polite about it." Winston Churchill <br />

Just like the Chinese like to pretend they are communist,we pretend to call ourselves free and democratic. But in all of this, I don`t see Canadians doing much of anythng to prevent this. All we do is complain and crack jokes, but when someone wants to take it up a couple of notches, such as staging a country wide general strike, suddenly, people aren`t so full of gusto. We`re losing our country, and it`s our own fault!! Wake up!! In ten years, we`ll still be sitting around, only wishing we did something when we could have.

Write to David Emerson Minister of Industry. Apparently he is feeling a bit uneasy about China's intent. Remember, these resources are ours, each and every Canadian needs to have a say in how we manage those resources and whether or not we want to sell them to a human rights abusing country.

So they can feed the peasants. :)

But that's the thing Dave--there isn't much the average person can do to organize against this.

The only thing that stops China from being Communist is they let microsoft in. :)

If Canada can't hold on to our businesses and keep them Canadian, then that shows that most Canadians have no pride in what they create. I don't mind the Americans, British, or Japanese buying some Canadian business, but I'll stress, it only makes them more powerful and wealthier. Hopefully, in the future, Canada will hold on to their pride more and not sell out to the highest bidder!

I think it's more they're clueless about what they create.....they've been too brainwashed with the Liberal crap about having a "world-class" health care system, as if we're they only ocuntry with universal healthcare.....great, that's national pride--we love where we go when we get sick.

Aside from that, it's hockey.....NHL isn't even Canadian, but we like to beat the world at international events.....

to clarify the Noranda sell to China: Brascan is the controlling shareholder of Noranda. It is their stake that is on the block. Brascan is controlled by the Bronfman's a virilent Zionist entity. Canada is being sold by jews/israel to China to gain diplomatic "credit's"

It seems Canadians are the only ones who can't find a use for what the remainder of the world finds invaluable. We will sell to the highest bidder no no matter whom. Americans & Japansese built up their economy from what Canada sells as garbage. Now the Chinese will receive the benefits of doing business with Canada.
