International Citizens Inquiry Into 911

Posted on Tuesday, May 25 at 21:07 by Milton

Most Canadians believe the U.S. Government knew that the attacks of September 11, 2001 were coming – and did not act to prevent them, a poll released today indicates. When asked about the following statement, 63% of Canadians agreed that “Individuals within the U.S. Government including the White House had prior knowledge of the plans for the events of September 11th, and failed to take appropriate action to stop them”.

Additionally, 16% of Canadians believe that individuals within the U.S. Government were involved in the planning and execution of the events of September 11th.

The country is more or less split on whether the Canadian Government was right in using the events of 9/11 to justify legislation which limits civil rights. While 50% support the government’s actions, 44% of Canadians oppose this legislation.

The national poll of Canadians was commissioned by 911inquiry.org and was conducted by Maritz: Thompson Lightstone, a national survey research firm.

Because Chretien, McCallum, Graham, McLellan, Pratt and Martin have not answered my question: "If a Canadian was at the helm of NORAD on 9/11 and NORAD failed to intercept the hijacked aircraft as it should have, is Canada responsible for 9/11?, I have emailed Phil Gilles asking him if he can find the answer to my question. We'll see.

Islamic fundamentalists were responsible for the September 11 attacks. Our open societies in the West are vulnerable to attack and they exploited that openness, it was not a stroke of genius, it didn't require a lot of effort and those 3,000 people from dozens of different countries certainly did not in any way deserve to be killed. It may comfort some people to try and explain their deaths as some part of a vast complicated conspiracy rather than a relatively simple act of violence, but it doesn't change the fact that they were actually killed by a simple act of violence.

Actually what doesn't change is the facts of the case. Evidence was destroyed, investigations were thwarted. This was done out in the open by people who knew better. The media glossed over everything just like you are doing Anonymous.

Exactly - the facts don't change - 3,000 people were killed by Islamic terrorists.

And between 9000 and 11000 iraqi civilians have been reported as killed thus far: http://www.iraqbodycount.net/

Never mind the american casualties in Iraq: http://www.antiwar.com/casualties/

That's just Iraq. The point is, it *doesn't* *matter* what happened on sept 11, what matters is that it was not investigated thoroughly and could quite possibly have been avoided. And yet it was used as an excuse for a pre-emptive invasion of iraq, where even greater casualties have been incurred. 9/11 was a tragedy, but that's no reason to blindly accept what the US government tells you.

"Islamic fundamentalists were responsible for the September 11
    attacks..."

    Are you sure ?

From the FBI web site, speech at the Commonwealth Club of
    California.

" While here, the hijackers did all they could to stay below our
radar. They contacted no known terrorist sympathizers. They
committed no egregious crimes. They dressed and acted like
Americans, shopping and eating at places like Wal-Mart and Pizza
Hut, blending into the woodwork all the while. When four got
speeding tickets in the days leading up to September 11th, they
remained calm and aroused no suspicion. Since none were
known terrorists, law enforcement had no reason to question or
    detain them.

The hijackers also left no paper trail. In our investigation, we have
not uncovered a single piece of paper – either here in the U.S. or
in the treasure trove of information that has turned up in
Afghanistan and elsewhere – that mentioned any aspect of the
September 11th plot. The hijackers had no computers, no laptops,
no storage media of any kind. They used hundreds of different pay
phones and cell phones, often with prepaid calling cards that are
extremely difficult to trace. And they made sure that all the money
sent to them to fund their attacks was wired in small amounts to
    avoid detection.

In short, the terrorists had managed to exploit loopholes and
vulnerabilities in our systems, to stay out of sight, and to not let
anyone know what they were up to beyond a very closed circle.

The investigation was enormously helpful in figuring out who and
what to look for as we worked to prevent attacks. It allowed us to
see where we as a nation needed to close gaps in our security.
And it gave us clear and definitive proof that al Qaeda was behind
    the strikes. "

Robert S. Mueller, III, Director, FBI
    Commonwealth Club of California
    San Francisco, CA

Muslim + Walmart + Pizza Hut + speeding ticket + no paper trail +
no computer + no storage media of any kind + no link to know
terrorist = clear and definitive proof that al Qaeda was behind the
    strikes.

The best part: "In our investigation, we have not uncovered a
single piece of paper – either here in the U.S. or in the treasure
trove of information that has turned up in Afghanistan and
elsewhere – that mentioned any aspect of the September 11th
    plot"

So much for truth and justice in the USA.

    Anon,

I'd be most interested in knowing where you get your "facts" from? There has been no investigation, no proof, no evidence stating who, what, why, how, nothing! No facts is the only fact. The only way you could state anything with regards to 9/11 as fact is if you personally committed the act. Did you?

  8. Fri May 28, 2004 2:08 am
Ya with all the proof the FBI has, (they know what they don't know), really makes them look just as capable of this act as any other group they're trying to insinuate in the case.

Al-Qaida & Sympathizers take credit for attacks on Embassies, Spanish trains, shipping, oil workers, houses of worship in Pakistan, journalists etc. etc. But the World Trade Center attacks are some kind of sinister CIA/FBI/Bogeyman conspiracy? Think!

Anybody can write a letter to the newspaper or post on a web site and claim responsibility for an act and say they belong to whatever group they want to, for instance group "X". This is not proof that "X" did anything. Why do the "intelligence" agencies allow assertions made in this manner to be accepted as proof by the mass media? Do the "intelligence" agencies have an agenda? Why does the mass media accept and report these claims as if they were proven as true? Does the mass media have an agenda?

So who selected, armed, and trained the Islamic fundamentalists who are to blame for this atrocity? You get a free trip to Afhganistan for the correct answer. The wrong answer gets you enrolled into the School of the Americas at Fort Benning.
