What is never discussed or even mentioned, is exactly how discarded electronics are recycled? I cannot imagine what kind of process can turn old circuit boards into something useful again. The cost of picking apart the few bits and pieces that may be reused or possibly melted down into reusable metal must be astronomical.

As with most recycling, there's almost never any hint as to what happens with the trash after it has been so carefully separated out into recycling bins.

What happens is they zap all these recycled electronics with a futuristic device
    that makes them biodegradable.

Oh, and I thought that they just sold it off by the pound to China or India for 'recycling' into new products that contain warnings about toxic lead and malfunction after only 1 week of use or less (to be 'recycled' again of course).
