I guess Poland discovered the hard way that the payoff wasn`t worth it.

I love horrible jokes. I find myself laughing at them much more than the ones that are supposed to be funny. Bribing, never heard of an incident since the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics with a few of the figure skating judges. Correct me if I'm wrong, France judge bribed by Russian judge?

Are we just giving our support away then or did we get the Lockheed Martin software/hardware for the Census for our Afghanistan support? I wonder just what we'll get for a yes to MD? The way we negotiate it'll be nothing more than a severe rash between our legs.

No doubt, if we do join middle defense -- defense industries in Ontario like Lockheed Martin Canada will get contracts to produce parts of it. This of course helps fund the hi-tech economy around Ottawa.

I think this is a separate issue though than what Poland was offered. Poland was offerred straight-up cash for bodies. Canada might have been offerred a similiar deal before Iraq (say more GM plants near Oshawa, perhaps even lifting trade duties) -- who knows? Poland could override the wishes of its citizens, and take the deal. Canada couldn't.

But it shows Lockheed Martin being used to subvert the democratically will of the people. I think Poland was something like 75% of the population were against invading.

    Okay, I'll bite.

If others like this type of BEARly acceptable humour, guess if it had been the previous president headline would have been 'Poles down on Clinton'.
