Minster of National Defence Bill Graham, a former professor of international law of the U of T, stated that the situation is not so serious a concern as the doomsayers would lead us to believe. I find it incredibly amazing how quickly bright people become very dumb when they enter cabinet.

'the military has yet to catch them in the act' - What military? The Canadian Forces? There is a small outpost at Alert, but that's it, there is no military presence between Yellowknife and Alert - none.

So our military won't be catching anybody. Sorry, but it was just such a laughable assertion to think they have the capacity to look for foreign incursions, never mind doing something about it.

    They do flyovers retard.

and ships and subs patrol....but the area is huge, they can't be everywhere at once

Our Aurora patrol aircraft can reach the area, but by the time they get there, the subs are usually gone.

A regular presence would be necessary--that means subs or double-hulled ships.....preferrably nuclear subs, but if our subs are reliable enough one day......they can stay under ice for how long, 45-50 days?

As for seabed mapping, wouldn't these foreign countries have to ADMIT that they are there to make a sovereignty claim?

Yeah, but threatening to blow a foreign sub out of the water is a reasonable wau to mean business, and having more than ZERO military vessles with double-hulls and four subs that don't work well with relatively small range would be a good start.

We should be doingour own seabed mapping, and reporting it, and policing our own waters.

Since there is no need for subs to be traversing those waters without our okay, we should just erect one large sub net. That would catch the bastards in the act.

Aurora patrol aircraft used to do flyovers 1.6 times per month, but that was back when they were more serviceable. Retard yourself.

Subs, whales, seals, polar bears, walrus would get caught too. Canada should build a Navy, an Air Force and a Coast Guard - or risk losing sovereignty to the bigger, more serious countries like Denmark.

Heh, Denmark. Why don't we just give our Inuit rockey lsunchers, and blow the subs away.

okay, in hindsight the net idea is a bad one, but we could buy US sonar bouys like the ones they have all around the world to spy on subs. they could be easily placed along the northwest passage, catch the subs going by, and save us millions in the process. a couple of destroyers on standby at either end then could us the signal to track down the offending subs. there is little need to spend billions on a navy that might never see a sub go by.

Dumb? Graham got involved with a 15 year old male prostitute named Lawrence Metherel while a UofT professor and lawyer - long before he was an MP. According to Lawrence, Graham regularly made "support payments." "Dumb" doesn't begin to do that one justice!<br><br> <a href="http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=221">What a shame!</a><br><br> Apparently there is no code of conduct for lawyers or law professors. Didn't a few high profile types just get jail time for uh, having <a href="http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1103326264403_55/?hub=Canada">sex with jailbait<a>?<br><br> Graham, as Minister of Defence, brings a whole new meaning to the old military policy of "don't ask, don't tell"! The media refuses to tell.

What does this have to do with anything? Lots of people have sex, many make mistakes. That doesn't invalidate anything they have ever done, nor does it make them automatically wrong.

Canadians are asking, why do americans hate us? They hate our freedoms: our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to disagree with each other.

A grown man having sexual relations with 15 year old boy is more than a mistake. It may not be contrary to the criminal code, but it is certainly morally reprehensible-- not because the relationship is homosexual, but because of the age difference. Any old adult (let's say anyone over 30) who preys on minors - even if they have reached the age of consent, which is 14 in Canada - has some screws loose. Graham's past activities demonstrates he exercises poor judgment and make bad decisions.
