Canada's UN Ambassador Stepping Down

Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham is also rumoured to be a possible successor.

Heinbecker will join the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo, Ont., an independent organization for research and policy advocacy which is jointly supported by the federal government and private donations.

He will also work with Wilfrid Laurier University's Laurier Centre for Global Relations, Governance and Policy.
