Business Seeks New Ties To Ottawa

Posted on Thursday, January 26 at 09:38 by 4Canada
After spending the past 12 years cultivating a web of personal relationships with the Liberal Party, many business leaders in Toronto and Montreal will have to buy a new Rolodex and start from scratch to form contacts with Stephen Harper's regime. As of yesterday morning, Canada's new powerbrokers are the Tory MPs who are expected to fill cabinet jobs and the key party workers who will help Mr. Harper shape his new government. Sources yesterday said the go-to man for big business is now Derek Burney, former chief of staff under Brian Mulroney and former chief executive officer of CAE Inc. He is heading up Stephen Harper's transition team and is respected by the private sector for having fought hard for free trade, insiders say. “He's a very important connection point for big business,” said one Ottawa source, much like ex-banking executive Peter Nicholson was for the Paul Martin government. Other key party contacts are Ian Brodie, Mr. Harper's chief of staff, and prominent party workers Ken Boessenkool and David Angus. Party sources said many business leaders have also been meeting with Alberta MPs James Rajotte and Monte Solberg, both of whom are seen as candidates for business-oriented cabinet positions. The contacts are not all new, however. Astute business players have spent the past year or two cultivating new contacts in the Conservative Party, anticipating a possible change of government. Canada's big banks, for example, have already nurtured relationships with some Tory MPs. “Every large business with registered lobbyists would have had people talking to Stephen Harper and his caucus for several years,” said one bank official. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20060124.wxr-election25/BNStory/Business/ [Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on January 27, 2006]

Like to talk about cozy, this is dam real cozy!

Here is a company that is so well connected to the Canadian Parliament through the powerful Desmarais family , it looks as if Power Corporation of Canada is a shadow government. If your worried about Thomas d'Aquino Chief Executive and President and his push for the WTO and the New World Order.

Well Power Corporation of Canada sure as hell seen many of our former and past high profile members of parliament walking through their doors. Combine The Canadian Council of Chief Executives, with the Board of Directors at Power Corporation of Canada and we have a real live monster right here in Canada.

The Canadian Council of Chief Executives http://www.ceocouncil.ca/en/

Power Corporation of Canada http://www.powercorp.com/index

Power Corporation of Canada is the body of a much bigger animal, with arms reaching into not only government , but the main stream media. Makes one wonder who is running Canada. This organization has holding in many news media outlets. Silence is golden for those who hold their tongue.

Just do a little reading on this monster and follow not only the money, but look at the connection to those in government, is it any wonder why the last lot of Prime Minister came out of Quebec, I am beginning to think that this separation thing is nothing more than a game, to leave the impression only a Quebec Prime Minister can save unity, it looks more as if it is about control and that Power Corporation of Canada, has it hand on the button.

It looks like a duck then it must be a duck , not a conspiracy theory, as many who would rather avoid the discussion would like to call it. MP Peter MacKay has been align with Sophia Desmarais, the daughter of the godfather of this holding company, thanks to good old Brian Mulroney. So my next question would have to be, is it possible that Stephen Harper is connected as well because of Brian Mulroney's connection to Paul Desmarais?

One must also take into consideration that Brian Mulroney, has a very close relationship with Harper and Prime Minister Harper counts of the support and advice of Former Prime Minister Mulroney. Do we live under a democracy or an oligarch structured society, "government by the few, holding power and control over the many ?
---
Good government is not a party government
