WHO Drags Its Feet On Bird Flu

Posted on Tuesday, February 01 at 11:47 by KevinGagnon

This week’s early WHO session has not only shown capitalism and greed outweigh human life, but the World Health Organization is a weak, ineffective organization in need of a new mandate. If a coming pandemic is as probable as predicted, the WHO should be making decisions right now.

Nations that sit on the WHO panel should only send members who can think for themselves and are empowered to make decisions without scrambling back home for a chat with the higher-ups. Each nation’s representative should be there with the authority to make a real difference.

Such dalliances are a waste of time, when time can not be wasted.

Millions of lives are at stake.

All those people who support Bush and think he is some almighty god, or I mean a prophet of god who think everything he does is in god's will. I wonder if they consider lobbying to prevent many from getting these drugs as gods will. The Bush admin has no power over the same people he gave power too (corporations) to help many who need drugs.

So much for the prophet Bush doing all good things. He can bomb a country into freedom, but can't lift some simple patent laws to help millions needing these drugs.

Intellectual property laws should be weakened so that there is no incentive to invest in new medicine, what has medicine done for anyone lately anyhow?

It clearly enables people to live longer and healthier lives, but the downside is that some people made evil 'profits' from doing that!

It would be better if everyone died off at forty years old like they used to do than allow anyone any sort of return on their investment.

The Canadian government should reject any type of medicine that was developed by a profitable corporation, Canadians should not have access to these medicines at all, Canadians should be forced by government to take the 'moral high road' all the way to their graves. That would show those Americans!

I don't know about what your saying there, and I won't say I agree with you. All I can say is the U.S is full of Hypocrisy. If lobbying wasn't who controled the U.S, those meetings could have ended positively right there, without needing to consult lobbying groups first.
