People living with disabilities are finally gaining some measure of inclusion and respect, however there is much work to be done in this area. There may even be people who accept their physical challenges and chose not to seek medical intervention and that should be their choice. But for those who desire a cure, or treatment which offers hope for a better quality of life, they should be supported and treatment should be available and affordable in Canada.
Approval of treatments and/or cures, should not be instituted without proper independent clinical trials, in Canada. We must remove the ties that bind medicine to profit alone. We must return to the old adage, ‘do no harm’ primarily, before we subject people to potential hazards, on the premise of healthcare. Canadians must not be used as guinea pigs for new technology or experimental drug therapy.
There are several illnesses which are impacting greatly on Canadians and which are not receiving significant research attention, or examining potential cures, treatments etc which are in some cases available in other countries, and which force patients to travel outside of Canada to seek treatment. This is an enormous expense, usually borne entirely by the patient or their family, not to mention the hardship of traveling with a disability or illness. We can do better. We must do better!
Canadian Action Party has been informed that these health concerns,(among others) are not receiving the attention they deserve:
1 Autism Spectrum Disorders (affects one in 300 individuals in Canada)
2 Chronic Fatigue (no known cause, no cure, no accepted treatment)
3 Fibromyalgia( no known cause, no cure, no accepted treatment)
4 Attention Deficit Disorder ( varying opinions on cause, cure and treatment protocol)
5 Vaccine side effects research, prior to implementation and use or after
We have contacted various groups, the medical community, McGill University Researchers to ask them for their input. We will continue to do so. The primary focus for many is to find ways to live with their illness, to maintain some form of ‘normalcy’ and adapt to their disabilities. We believe that more can be done. In our attempts to find solutions especially for Autism in Canada, our research led us to Dr. John Martin a researcher at CCID. His findings are shocking, disturbing and also full of hope, if we act today! We believe that drug side effects, vaccine contamination results, and the approval process all deserve immediate investigation by independent sources, not influenced by pharmaceutical companies.
In part a quote from their website:
The Center For Complex Infectious Diseases introduction on their website is as follows,
‘The primary mission of CCID is to determine the nature, origin, disease associations, modes of transmission, methods of diagnosis and responses to therapy of complex infectious diseases, and to disseminate such information. CCID is currently specializing in the detection and characterization of viruses which have undergone a "stealth" adaptation to avoid elimination by the immune system.
It has now been scientifically proven that stealth viruses do, indeed, exist and can be at the root of many multi-system neuro-degenrative illnesses, such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, attention deficit disorder, autism and other diseases causing behavorial changes.
CCID's focus is away from the clinical categorization of illnesses into such entities as CFS, FM, MCS, psychosis, etc. Patients are viewed as having multi-system illnesses due to persisting stealth viral infections. Treatments are directed towards suppressing the virus and correcting the metabolic derangements caused by these infections. Integration of laboratory and pharmacy provides a good foundation for appropriate, approved and scientifically valid clinical trials.’
The Canadian Action Party is recommending that Health Canada act on behalf of Canadians by doing clinical trials without delay. We believe that our government ought to encourage and support the pursuit of truth regardless of where it leads. We believe that society has the right to be told when infectious diseases are a threat and assist us in fighting them. If ‘epidemic’ means, ‘affecting many people at one time’, according to Webster’s Dictionary, we clearly have several epidemics affecting Canadians and our government ought to be doing everything in their power to combat it.
In response to the growing number of childhood illnesses, rising rates of cancers and diseases which affect children and adults, and which are creating everything from learning disabilities, behavioral problems, to complete immobility in some cases, we recommend that Health Canada, become independent and pursue the protection of Canadians from chemicals, food additives, genetically modified foods, unsafe medications and vaccines, toxins, as well as environmental risks to our health. After all, is that not what Canadians expect our health department to do?
We recommend that Health Canada attract the very best researchers and medical doctors to work in Canada to perform clinical trials and seek cures to these and other threats to our health, and to encourage our youth to pursue careers in the medical and science disciplines.
We recommend that the government of Canada support through the Canada Health Act access to treatment options available, and fund them through Health Canada. We recommend the government adopt treatment from other countries, with proven positive results, after proper Canadian testing has been complete, in a timely manner, thereby removing the burden and expense of travel for treatment.
While we agree that childhood obesity is a major health concern, we believe that there are significant numbers to support more being done in the area of Autism and infectious disease. Again, we must look at our environment, food supply and education system to address the rise in obesity in our youth. A quote from the Health Minister:
‘According to Statistic Canada’s findings from the Canadian Community Health Survey, 26 percent of Canadian children and adolescents aged two to 17 were overweight or obese in 2004. Between 1978 and 2004 the obesity rate among 12-17 year olds increased from three percent to nine percent. “Childhood obesity has tripled over the past two decades,” said Minister Dosanjh. “Obesity is a serious and complex issue that requires a multi-faceted approach. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting research that will help find solutions.”’

Most of the disabilities or illnesses listed above and many others, are lacking in real treatment, leaving patients to seek out experimental treatment on their own and sometimes with dire results. The majority of resources on these issues are parent driven support groups, attempting to find solutions on their own to their concerns. This type of networking is very constructive, however our government owes these people a health system which prevents such floundering in the face of health threats.
The Canadian Action Party believes that the current status quo is unacceptable, that more can and should be done and that by electing members to government who understand the issues, and are committed to serving Canadians’ needs, we as a country can be leaders in research into cause, treatment, prevention and cures. It is crucial, critical and above all the right thing for responsible government to do on behalf of her people. It is time for the medical community to return to its rightful place in society, to be driven to cure, to prevent and to treat patients with respect and dignity. We need to remove all opportunity for exploiting the public at large for the pursuit of profits first, safety last! In order to allow the medical community the freedom to do so, we must legislate whistle-blower protection that ensures those who know the dangers are not prevented from exposing them because of undue influence or duress.

Canadian Action Party – Press Release & Bulletin to the Government of Canada-
Supplementary information on Infectious Disease in Canada
The Canadian government working on behalf of her citizens, owes them the complete disclosure of threats to their health regardless of risk of culpability in the matter. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms Equality Rights section 15(1) Every individual is equal before and under the law ….section 15(2) Subsection (1) does not preclude any law, program or activity that has its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals…’
And then a quote from The Honourable Jean Chretien, House of Commons, Feb.17 1981 “We have the occasion….to build for our children and the children of our children a better Canada – a Canada which will recognize the diversity and equality which should be in our society, a Canada which will protect the weakest in society…a Canada which will be an example to the world”
Those were powerful words, indicative of a great ideology, which makes lasting historical impact, while sounding both visionary and proactive, but that was 1981. Today in 2005 we are living with a healthcare system in decay, after the worst cuts to health care under Mr. Chretien’s leadership as Prime Minister, with Mr. Martin, then Finance Minister the man behind the cuts, and now he is our Prime Minister.
We see an increase in demand on our healthcare system, our education system for special needs, and learning disabilities. We are seeing the impact on our workforce and the rise of disability claims through Canada Pension and private insurance. We are living with the daily increase in stress on families for care-giving, homecare and prescription drugs. We are losing choices in our food selections, we face an ongoing threat to the additives in food preparations, and increase in allergies, or behavioral disorders as a result. Many concerned parents and citizens are wondering who is monitoring our food supply, our environment and medications? Many are suspicious of the impact of these so called improvements to our way of life? Many believe there is a direct relationship between what is believed to be a lack of diligent scrutiny in new drug approvals, new farming techniques and pesticides, food additives, preservation procedures etc. and the increase of disease, including childhood cancers, premature births, and infectious disease. Canadian Action Party believes that it is the responsibility of government to strive to protect and assist its citizens in achieving a healthy society.
Canada as well as many countries around the world are facing new illnesses, new viruses and we are left wondering what our government will do to protect us? Cover-ups and downplaying the threats do not dispel fear, rather they create fear, anxiety, dread and often overwhelming feelings of helplessness. There is a very serious health concern, which is not being addressed, as yet and which the Canadian Action Party believes requires immediate attention.
We need an investigation into exactly where our healthcare dollars have been going, research funding, as well as treatment facilities. There is far too much bureaucracy and not enough attention paid to care, prevention and cure. We need to expose conflict of interest for what it is and remove such opportunities where they exist.
There are many opinions on various diseases which are worthy of exploration, funding and research. We have found one which has already completed the research and all we need do is implement the information into clinical trials in Canada in order to assist in the possible eradication of many illnesses, and prevent further spread of them. We have been informed, through our research into Autism Spectrum Disorder of the very real consequences of not acting on information available many years ago. We are seeing a rise in illness, such as Autism, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Gulf War Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, and a multitude of other illness. Researchers at the Centre for Complex Infectious Disease in the United States, have discovered the cause, of these illnesses and are faced with two major obstacles in order to bring forward cures and prevention.
The obstacles in part are overcoming the overwhelming lack of will to take responsibility for a mistake by government in approving a vaccine which was not properly researched, and then to downplay the effects and continue to use the vaccine after they were told of the serious, possible risks. Denials may come, but it is a well documented fact. Many people know what is wrong within the system, but fear taking a stand because of repercussions. However the government of Canada, must take every precaution to allow full disclosure and protect those who speak out.
Do we know that what Dr. Martin says is a factual method to treat? No, we do not. We know he does not work for a pharmaceutical company, and that he has done extensive well documented research. Which is why we need clinical trials. What we also know is that the first polio vaccine was contaminated, and that of subsequent, live polio vaccines manufactured up until 1992, several lots were found to contain Simian cytomegalovirus DNA sequences. (FDA Biologicals, 2002;30:167-74) We also know that if we do not explore this possibility, we are denying a very possible cause and therefore opportunity for cures and treatment. We also prevent those who authorized the use of these vaccines from taking responsibility and consequences for their actions.
The second obstacle comes directly from the first, without acknowledging the link. There is no reason to approve clinical trials for a cure, or prevention of the illnesses the vaccine has been attributed to causing. For many in the medical communities or support groups, it is a matter of survival. If they speak out on this matter, they risk losing funding for the existing programs. Other sources indicate that some companies make a great deal of money from treatment which gives some relief from symptoms or offers hope, but no real cure. Others have found it more advantageous to continue to believe there is no cure, because to think otherwise, or to believe their government has known for all this time and done nothing is so unacceptable that they would prefer to deny it. The other attitude is fear of public outrage, or panic because of the possibility of spread of these illnesses. However they are spreading anyway, quietly without public knowledge, resulting in confusion.
Regardless of the obstacles or the attitudes to protect people, industry or government from lawsuits or panic over epidemic fears, we have an obligation to go forward in search of truth in order to protect the future population and attempt to rectify in any way possible the effects these errors have inflicted on the nation.
The culprit is reportedly, the Polio Vaccine. The Canadian government issued this statement in 2004.
From Health Canada Infectious Disease
Polio Vaccine and Simian Virus 40 (SV40): Canada
Health Canada has prepared a series of questions and answers on polio vaccine and Simian Virus 40 (SV40). Polio vaccines were originally grown in rhesus monkey cells. Early in 1960, scientists discovered that some of the monkeys whose cells were used to grow the vaccine had been infected with the SV40 virus. As a result, there were concerns that people who had received those first batches of polio vaccine may have been exposed to SV40. Studies done in 1961 showed that the SV40 virus could cause cancer in rodents. The SV40 virus has also been detected in some patients with rare cancers: mesothelioma, osteosarcoma and ependymoma. To date, there is no epidemiologic evidence that shows people exposed to the SV40 contaminated polio vaccine are at increased risk of developing the type of cancers that rodents developed after direct exposure to SV40. A number of epidemiologic studies have been done to see if there was a connection between an increase in cancer rates and possible exposure to SV40 before 1963.
To date, the studies have not found an increase in cancer rates. http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/bid-bmi/dsd-dsm/nb-ab/2004/nb3004_e.html

Health Canada does not appear to link this vaccine to any other illnesses, or to infectious diseases nor do they appear to have done any research into the results of their decision.
According to our sources, the SV40 made from Rhesus Monkey was excluded from polio vaccines in 1960-61, however the Live Oral Poliovirus vaccines(OPV) manufactured until 1998 came from African Green Monkey. The CCID has researched this vaccine and indicates a very real link to what they refer to as ‘Stealth Viruses’, these are viruses that hide, and are not easily located by traditional testing. The result is that they are running rampant in society with no apparent ‘virus police’ on alert. Dr. John Martin explains that since these viruses have been left unchecked, they are invading our blood supply and then passed from person to person. They can be transferred from mothers to infants, and yet our health department has not begun any serious investigation into the matter. Health Canada needs to pursue with great emphasis, the ‘cause of infectious agents’. The CCID is requesting assistance with Clinical Therapeutic Studies, and Canada could and we believe, should, assist in this endeavor. According to the CCID we have a serious threat posed by stealth-adapted viruses and viteria, which requires our urgent attention. In light of the overwhelming evidence of increased infectious disease, HIV, AIDS, Autism, Chronic Fatigue Syndrom, Fibromyalgia, Attention Deficit Disorder and numerous other life changing, if not life threatening illness, it would seem irresponsible if not negligent to refuse to explore this opportunity. The medical community or the government may be able to downplay Dr. Martin’s research, or his suggested clinical trials, but what they cannot deny is the rampant spread of illness, which is affecting society. It will not go away, until we seek out the root, find the cure, learn how to prevent and improve the lives of all those affected.
This is certainly not the only threat to Canadians, via vaccines or other drug reactions. Our food and environment are playing havoc with our health. Canadian Action Party is working hard to seek solutions that work for Canadians to address these very real concerns. We are willing to listen to Canadians, and proceed with change that benefits people first. Some of these decisions may be unpopular with industry or corporate Canada, but government has an obligation to protect, provide and respect the people before any corporate profit is considered. Corporations and industry have their place in society, and as long as they are beneficial to the environment and humanity they will enhance lives, and it is the role of government to ensure that they do.
Canadian Action Party is contacting the medical community in Canada, the research departments, and Health Canada, as well as the Prime Minister, all MP’s including the Health Minister and asking them to make this a very high priority for the benefit of all people in Canada, and indirectly for the people of the world. We can make a very important move towards changing the lives of million of people if we act now. If not today, then we ask when would be a good time to acknowledge mistakes of the past and work toward solutions for today and years to come? It is paramount that this issue is not swept under the carpet or downplayed any longer. Far too many people’s lives have been destroyed because of it.
We have seen the results of denying the blood supply contamination; we have seen the results of not addressing SARS as quickly and efficiently as possible; we have seen the horror after Thalidamide was approved for use by pregnant women in Canada. We need responsible decisions today! If this government does not have the will to act on this matter, on behalf of its people, then the Canadian Action Party if elected by the people of Canada, most definitely will see this as part of their mandate. We cannot do it alone, nor would we want to. The people must define the government they want to represent them. We are offering them a vehicle for change.

Throw back Trudeau Liberals & Red Tories, "get this" are capable of making the connections of toxic environment to illness, preventative medicine, the "special needs" we all face.
Convergence politics: progressives in the classroom, boardroom, grassroots to governance can force this awakening.
How do we mobilize the centre - centre/left Canadian then move forward to the uninformed, complacent, corporatized? Education isn't enough, monies are required for research, hiring top notch medical professionals.....in a time when "tax cuts" are sold as the cure for cancer!

If I stand for my country today...will my country be here to stand for me tomorrow?
This is the price we pay for "market economics", enforced by all levels of government.
We gave up on doctors and medications years ago and switched to homeopathics, with excellent results. Whether it would help in this case, I don't know?
Also, as organic farmers, we know that much of the organic food sold in city stores is fraudulent. For one thing, if you use microwave ovens at home, they destroy all the beneficial qualities of foods. Look it up on google by typing in "Health effects of microwave ovens" When we threw ours out , our whole complexion has changed.
Also, all imported vegetables from the USA and Mexico are irradiated, which again destroys the quality. Then, many organic vegetables and herbs are harvested with haying equipment and are full of bugs and worm eggs. When they get to the stores in the cities, there are bylaws forcing the store owners to spray them with pesticides, in the storage bins and racks. One of my daughters worked in a herb store in Vancouver and it was a routine job to spray organic herbs in the bins, drawers and racks with pesticides.
This again is the result of the "market economy" of "cheap foods". We tried to grow organic herbs years ago, but for example, we were offered $15. for a pound of hand harvested, clean, cut and dried chives, when they were selling at $450, in the stores. Needless to say, we quit and as far we're concerned, the market economy and those who promote it can go to hell.
I took 7 head of organically grown and raised cattle to the auction sales on Wednesday. Those animals are shot so full of antibiotics, hormones and steroids by now that it must be coming out of their ears. Then the whole process is repeated every time they go to another feedlot. Then governments are wringing their hands in despair that kids are becoming fat pigs when they eat that ruined meat.
