Each province, one of ten spanning for miles
to greet the mighty blue Pacific to the west and
Atlantic Ocean to the east
With three incredibly large territories
encompassing the north as far as the Beau fort Sea
She is home to the moose and snow, polar bears
and buffalo
The beaver thumps its tail to be chosen to grace
our five cent coin
As the maple leaf flies high on our National flag
The roots which come from our sugar tree
The majestic mountain has the power to look down below
in jealousy and spit upon
the dancing golden grass of prairie lands
The clear blue streams that flow so easily could
reject the migrating elk from quenching its thirst
at her shores
The fish that swim the ocean free could
refuse to feed the peoples of the land beyond
So could the evergreen forest of the Northern Lands
refuse entry to a wayward seed carried in by
southern winds beyond the border
Nature revels in the evolution of itself
It churns, it remolds and resurrects
It rests in winter under a blanket of cold precipitation
Reinvests in itself
Accepts the changes spring inflicts upon it
Rebuilds a new clean fragrant self
each and every year
Different from the season before
Not always better, nor worse
Just different
It's beauty in a constant state of metamorphosis
Canada's land is vast and varied
it lives in harmony, each facet of beauty
enhanced by the contrast of another
So too, lives it's cultural mosaic, it's people
Each community, province and region different
not better nor worse
the beauty of the individual magnified by
the contrast of their surroundings
As the mighty powerful ocean would not
even with all its magnificent and varied inhabitants
presume to be
more important than the mountains high
nor the prairies golden
nor the forest green
As Canada's natural beauty and resources
do not envy each other nor
try to impose its strength upon the other
So too, the peoples of each region
know their uniqueness adds to the completeness
of the country as a whole
Canada is harmony in every way!
