Government Invests In Nunavut, Cont'd

“The Government of Canada is providing much needed funding to Nunavut’s boards so they can respond to Nunavut’s economic growth and new challenges,“ said Minister Strahl. “The boards have an important role to manage the increase in Nunavut’s mineral exploration, land use activities, water licensing, as well as new challenges in wildlife management.” These new investments are the result of a consensus on appropriate levels of funding for Nunavut’s boards achieved in January 2006 among the Government of Canada, Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated, and the Government of Nunavut. http://news.gc.ca/web/view/en/index.jsp?articleid=364529
