Awesome! She speaks and she was heard, now let us move her voice forward to
real solutions! Really fantastic, thanks for posting.

Was it just me or did the audience look very uncomfortable?

I can see why kids have so little respect for adults. It's because many adults are hypocrites and have little respect for anything but themselves. Now where did the adults learn such poor behaviour from? Think of the parent telling his or her child not to smoke, all the while puffing away at a cigarette.

This will be one hell of a vicious cycle to break out of, and it must start with you as soon as you have your own children.

I'm a strong believer that our problems will only be solved once a significant proportion of the worlds population begins to view their world far differently than how people view it today. We have to change our ways, and no stop-gap or quick-fix solution will ever work until that happens. Most of the solutions I see being proposed (such as CO2 reduction) remind me of those fad diets that never work and tend to leave people worse off in the end.

Yes rearguard, I agreee, it was a delightful spectable of discomfort! Like a
child being scolded, yet knowing that they are in the wrong. No denial on any
face I saw. This is a good step. There was no look of blaming some other guy,
everyone seemed to be impressed with her candor, as was I. No hysterics, just
straight talk. She laid the blame squarely at our feet and she painted a picture
for all to see what she sees and this is critical to understanding what we have
done or allowed to be done.

I was very impressed, with her and with the audience. The only thing missing
was a standing ovation, however their applause seemed genuine, in fact they
may have been taken by surprise at their own reaction. But it doesn't matter,
they were affected one way or another! Bravo!
