Green Party Pledges To Maintain And Expand Trenton Works

Posted on Thursday, April 05 at 09:58 by JimmyD
Only a few years ago, Trenton Works provided jobs to more than 1,000 workers. Recent years have seen the company downsized and forced to lay off staff, while the federal has stood by and done nothing to save these jobs. An estimated 330 workers will lose their jobs when the business closes later this year. "This proves once again, as if we needed more proof, that having Peter MacKay in the Harper Cabinet does residents of Central Nova no good at all. If elected, I pledge to make working with the next government to protect these jobs and restore Canada's rail system a top priority." http://www.greenparty.ca/en/www.greenparty.ca/en/releases/04.04.2007
