Maxime Bernier Says Canadians Are To Participate In Global Prosperity

Posted on Wednesday, June 07 at 23:30 by JanAllen
Canada's Minister Of Industry, speaking at the Plenary Conference of Montréal on 06-05-2006, said globalization is leading Canadians into the age of global prosperity: Competition, including that with emerging economies, is not a threat, but a catalyst. It's a constant motivator for innovation, developing our knowledge base and enriching our research. Competition is bringing about new partnerships between businesses, between governments and between people. For us, globalization is an opportunity: a free economy does not conflict with strong social values. On the contrary, it allows them to be reaffirmed in today's world. It is in this way that we are becoming partners with our citizens and that we are participating in global prosperity. And Mr. Bernier spoke well of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America saying: The necessity of cultivating alliances to achieve prosperity is also true when it comes to security. Our Mexican and American colleagues will likely speak to the valuable work that has been accomplished by the security and prosperity partnership of North America http://tinyurl.com/zowaa

Maxime is full of shit. Canada and other developed nations should not be enriching potential enemies like China and India by sharing technology secrets with them.

The term "global prosperity" is a bunch of bullshit.

    Prosperity for whom exactly?

Maxine and her ilk are assuming that their guesses are facts, and that is an extremely dangerous assumption to make.

One question, who the hell wrote that tripe anyways, Gordon Muir Campbell?

Sounds like his brand of crap.

Try to tell this story to the millions of Mexicans, up to 70% of the total, who were supposed to be the biggest winners from NAFTA, but turned out to be the biggest losers, while their GDP is rising and their ruling class is going ballistic with wealth.

Or the tens of millions of Americans, who are now in minimum wage part time jobs.

Or the millions who die of starvation and preventable illnesses every year, because their subsistence has been concfiscated to serve multinationals.

Or the tens of thousands of Asian farmers who have already committed suicide, over the loss of their families' lands, especially in India.

I sometimes have to wonder, whether these people really believe in this garbage, or just repeat it, because they're paid for it?

In any case, every competitive system raises costs, must burn out and self destruct. Haven't these fools figured this simple out fact yet?

The secret of prosperity and sustainability is not competition, but cooperation. Our neighbours and ourselves are doing OK, because we have strong fences we keep in good repair and when needed, we help each other, we buy from and sell to each other, but we never interfere in each others' business.

The same simple rule applies to communities and nations. Now tell this to a brainwashed economist, or so called conservative.

You'd have better luck teaching pigs to fly.

Two economists couldn't agree on the time of day at 2 pm this afternoon, but they could prove mathematically that it will be anywhere from 1:28 to 4:32, depending on who and what pays for the correct time.

I'm also certain that they could also prove that pigs can fly, after all they made the neoclassical globalized free market economy theory fly, and are now proving that the crime wave it caused is the ultimate road to global freedom and prosperity.

Ask Maxime ! I don't know who, or what her present claim to fame is, but I've heard her talking 65 years ago, praising Hitler's Thousand Year Reich and 60 years ago, gloating over the freedoms in Stalin's Workers' Paradise.

I wonder, if it was her who tortured my mother at the AVH headquarters on Andrassy St. in Budapest in 1949, trying to get it out of her what I was doing at Cambridge and how I got there, when I was supposed to be in Siberia?

"globalization is leading Canadians into the age of global prosperity"

She didn't say how many Canadians. How many do we figure 50? 60? She obviously wasn't talking about the 30 or so million who won't see a damn nickel of it.
