US Pushes World Court Immunity Amid Iraq Scandal

So far 89 countries have signed agreements with Washington promising that Americans accused of grave international offenses, including soldiers charged with war crimes, will be returned to U.S. jurisdiction so their cases can be decided by fellow Americans rather than international jurists.

Other states may soon be added, officials said this week.

    The world court is just another tool of pure politics. It will become just like the UN where the commission on human rights voted in the Sudan while the government in Khartoum is busy slaughtering people.

    Yeah, everyone else except the US is a terrorist or a war criminal! As for Sudan, well, if they happen to find lots of oil in that country, then the US just might go to 'liberate' them as well, eh?

    Since there have already been a couple of tribunals, I think the world court might have some teeth, just because you don't sign up for the law of the land doesn't mean you don't have to live with it. Most people don't know all the laws until they break one, but the police and courts will certainly let you know! Just hope they have the intestinal fortitude to enforce the world laws!
