Canada Cries Foul Over U.S. Border Taxes

Posted on Sunday, June 03 at 13:08 by jensonj
International Trade Minister David Emerson and Agriculture Minister Chuck Strahl issued a statement yesterday expressing disappointment at what Washington has done and calling on the Americans to reverse course. "This rule should be withdrawn," the ministers said. Beginning yesterday, in a move it announced May 30, the U.S. government will start inspecting commercial trucks and loaded railway cars entering the United States from Canada for agricultural threats. http://www.theglobeandmail.com:80/servlet/story/LAC.20070602.RTICKERMAIN02/TPStory/Business [Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on June 4, 2007]

"..Trade watchers say the move will hurt Canada-U.S. relations.."

Of course it will. Just like the hundreds of times Canadian-US relations was hurt before. Now that the objection has been made, Canada and Canadians will do exactly as ordered by the Americans. Anything else new?

"Calling Canada a potential conduit for bioterrorism, pests and disease"

Canadians in turn call America a den of war criminals, economic thieves, religious fanatics and the main supplier of death around the globe.

Well, the U.S. Media is now saying the Canadian / U.S. border security needs to be addressed immediately since Canada let that infected American Lawyer into the U.S. without stopping him.

    And the hits keep coming?

""tit-for-tat is the only language they understand."

But they don't. It's "do as we say NOT as we do". Americans feel superior and see retaliation as aggression. If they punched you, you would be attacking them ,if you reacted.
