"The case may end up embarrassing the US government on the global stage"

The US government does not get embarrassed, otherwise it would have been embarrassed long ago by its many war crimes, its ugly and inexcusable torturing of prisoners, its obvious election fraud, its multitude of lies, its self-inflicted terrorist attacks and subsequent phony fear mongering, etc. The list of embarrassing acconplishments is near bottomless.

How many times has Canada taken the US to court and how many times was the US embarassed? The US continues to lose in court, does nothing and gets a compromise from Canada. Why would Canada waste taxpayers money if they aren't going to follow through. The USA will come ahead on the ruling even if they lose. The embarassment is Canada. American farmers are laughing already.
