Decreasing income for two or more wage earners for 2004 aside (grist for another story?), the average dual (or more) income for Canadians is nowhere near the salaries presented in the news article. I noticed the same in the CBC TV story yesterday (23 Aug), where the example stated that hubby earned $40,000 LESS than moma.
So why use "examples" (as in the TV story) of hubby with home-based business, and moma lawyer? These are not at all representative of Canadians. So how does Joe Lunchbucket compare with his missus? Especially when they need a daycare, because both have to work out of the home (which is more more the "norm" than hubby with his computer, available to the kids 24/7 (wonder what HE will do with his $1200 anyway?)
