America's Contempt for the World
Bushwhacked in the Caribbean
By RANDALL ROBINSON
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts.
On Feb. 29 the legally elected government of Haiti was driven from power by armed force. Its president, after being taken against his will to the Central African Republic, was given refuge in Jamaica. The Bush administration's response has been to demand that the democratic countries of the Caribbean (1) drop their call for an investigation into the ouster of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, (2) push the Aristide family out of Jamaica and the region, and (3) abandon their policy of admitting only democratically elected governments into the councils of Caricom (a multilateral organization established by the English-speaking Caribbean countries 31 years ago to promote regional cooperation).

1) They took President Aristede by force in the middle of the night and held him incommunicado.
2) The US armed and backed the thugs and murderers that invaded Haiti.
3) The fascist elements within the US administration don't mind starting trouble anywhere, anytime. This is evident by their repeated attempts to destabilize the government of Venezuela and the recent attempt to overthrow by force with the US backed Columbian thugs which were caught in Venezuela. Also the threatening rhetoric and actions aimed at Iran, Syria and North Korea shows your propaganda for what it is.
"Does anyone seriously believe that problems in the Caribbean will help Bush get re-elected?"
Problems like an investigation Bush is trying to keep from taking place? No, an unwanted investigation would likely be BAD for re-election. An investigation is what will be needed however for answers as to WHY Canada and the US and France were in there in the first place. I think Aristide knows something that these G3ers (that's grade 3ers), don't like him knowing and they are threatening him with their thugish behaviour. I don't like that the rest of the Caribbean countries don't like it either. They suspect something too. If you know something, what is it?
