Maev plans to team up with private companies and the Winnipeg-based National Research Council Institute for Biodiagnostics, which will open a satellite office in Windsor to work with the native of Russia.
"This is cutting edge research and will create jobs that haven't even been invented yet," said a provincial government official who asked for confidentiality because the announcement won't be made until Monday.
In 1997, Maev started one of two acoustic imaging centres in the country with a staff of five.
