Make it hard to go back and forth between the two countries then suddenly come up with a "new" plan to open up the border: US takeover of our borders and immigration to ensure "terrists" cannot get in, then the border can be eliminated.

Who's trying to sneak into the US all of a sudden, sneak out is more like it? Unless they knock out the same satellite bringing us Survivor and news of Britney’s baby no one will blink at troops on the border. The MSM will continue to read what’s on the little screen, but if it doesn't fit with what's out the window one or two might furrow a brow, or dare to let their smile dip. . <br />
Can we bring our troops back from Afghanistan and put them on the border please? If they bring on the US draft, then we can use our troops to liberate draft dodgers and smuggle them to safety. Offer Canadian uniforms to them and fix the recruitment problem at the same time, only keep our troops IN Canada. Fly planes in to pick up the Katrina in planes clearly marked with terrorist logos and Norad won’t interfere. Bring them back here, offer jobs on border patrol, and address the sovereignty problem at the same time, open a few new Coke Cola plants, luxuriate in to boon of spin-off industry? Coke plants = hope and prosperity. Pop, new uniforms, training camps, and new housing (softwood lumber solution ) clothing and food for everyone. Let's see, I don't envision Harper or the merry band of Great Canadian sellouts in this new Canada, so let's just say a young and impressionable internet enthusiast was steered towards a map, more than a paint ball gun, and a 8x10 glossy of the head of "Canada’s New Government". <br />

OK, I am loosing it here. But how much more bizarre is Bush explaining on TV, the necessity benefits of “expert questioning” in the now admitted secret CIA prisons. Or US troops on the Canada US border. Or the US air force Chief advocating testing a new weapon of US mobs first before using it on the enemy publicly (see Diogenes submission). It’s heads out of the sand time here folks. The masters of the new Twilight Zone aren’t even trying to hide their crazy anymore, and the deafening silence in the face of such bold faced crazy statements is just the bring it on put us in chains signal that the crazies have been waiting for.<br />

But not in the summer. The humidity in ol' Foggy Bottom is a killer, and it plays hell on the wool uniforms........

Good point, Pat. I think we ought to encourage Charlie Norwood and the proponents of tighter borders and slower inspections. It might stalemate, or at least slow down the Canadian annexationist traitors!
