I hear you all think the same thing -BASTARDS- how can they who make so much get away with paying no tax and we're [sic] getting squeezed for every dime we make. One can only assume that this is still happening and increasing up through today.
I think it would cause riots in the States if it got out in the news, but like so much of the important stuff, it is glossed and forgotten. So back to news of Iraq...
I never want to hear one American official talk of corruption around the world until they deal with the thievery going on in the United States itself.

The corporations continually cry that they pay too much tax, that they can do it better than the government, that they are innovators while governments stifle innovation, that they create jobs and prosperity, that investors are risk takers and deserve special favour.
Then the corporations enter our country, borrow our money, buy our corporations, hollow out the corporation by moving jobs to their head offices country, import parts and services from their HQ's country which they then charge enough for so that no taxble profit shows up, complain that they are not able to make a profit because there is too much government, demand that government be scaled back and that special incentives be given so that the "risk takers" can be rewarded, demand that wages be lowered so that "risk takers " can be rewarded, demand that social services be reduced so that more people will seek work and wages will decrease, demand that educational expenditures be reduced along with all govermental services that do not directly benefit the corporation so that corporate taxes can be reduced so that "risk takers" can be rewarded... and on and on ad nauseum!
"Self-interested, amoral, callous and deceitful, a corporations operational principles make it anti-social. It breaches social and legal standards to get its way even while it mimics the human qualities of empathy, caring and altruism. It suffers no guilt. Corporations are legally bound to pursue profits at any cost.
Diagnosis: the institutional embodiement of laissez-faire (let do) capitalism fully meets the diagnostic criteria of a psychopath."- The Corporation a film by M. Achbar, J. Abbott, J. Bakan

Mr. Klein remains right up there with his mainly U.S. led oil barons bleeding Canada's resourses at atrociously low royalty and tax rates. Just another example of political leadership heartbreak.
Jack Layton continues to shun people like Orchard, Hellyer, Hurtig and others desireous of an alternative which would serve Canadians by first abrogating NAFTA, and then applying Canadian Made measures to serve the needs of our citizens.
