Foreign Aid Cash Going Toward Terrorism Fight: Report

The terrorist attacks of recent years have damaged the world economy, making everyone poorer. It makes sense to use Canadian foreign aid dollars for institution building projects in recipient countries, it makes it harder for dictators to siphon off the funds for their personal accounts in Switzerland. No one will invest their money in places that might get blown up, Canadians wouldn't put their money in the bank if they thought it would go up in smoke.

I don't think they need institutions, I think they need infrastructure, (waterworks, electrical systems, transportation, education etc.)and I think we need to make sure that the aid is not used as a transfer payment to Canadian corp.s. A lot of the so called foriegn aid has strings attached requiring the recipient to buy specific Canadian goods whether needed or not, we don't need any more political largesse.

Correction: the staged terror attacks have ultimately made a few rich richer, from the vampire insurance companies who hiked everything because of Sept 11 to the Oil companies who are now about to suck Iraq dry. And compliant Liberals and Conservatives in Canada have ensured that Canadians by and large have seen their standard of living drop because we are helping various US administrations run a WAR ECONOMY since Vietnam.
