Tax his car,Tax his gas, Find other ways To tax his ass Tax all he has Then let him know That you won't be done Till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers, Then tax him some more,Tax him till He's good and sore. Then tax his coffin ,Tax his grave,Tax the sod in Which he's laid. Put these words upon his tomb," Taxes drove me to my doom... "When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply: The inheritance tax. These he paid..... Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What the heck happened? Can you spell "politicians!" And.... I still have to "press 1" for English. I hope this goes around Canada at least 100 times!

Reminds of both the theme from FIREFLY and the Beatles. Excellent.

Why doesn't somebody mention that profits, the multimillion dollar "earnings" of executives, the limos, the private jets and yachts, the fancy offices, the top line call girls, the fancy dinners and hotel suites, the interest charges, are all accounted as "tax deductible business expenses", in other words, paid for by the taxpaying public, the stock and money markets, the money creation rights of the banks transferring liabilities on the public, the monies salted into tax havens, the "restructurings", the "outsourcings", the PPPs, etc. etc. that could go on for pages, are also taxation, yet nobody questions them ?

Could this be caused by the power of brainwash of generations? It is perfectly OK to curse governments, but corporations are untouchable? Yet all the money always comes out of the same pockets of the same public.

You don't have to go back 100, only 30 odd years. The first national debt happened when Turner was finance minister and it went wild under Mulroney.

What happened was the teachings of the neoclassical market economy theory in our, and the world's universities.

Don't blame the politicians, but the priesthood of professors of economics. The politicians are only the pushers, not the makers and inventors/

We pay for airports because we fly. We pay for roads because we drive. We pay for policemen and firemen because we fear. We pay for schools so our children can learn We demand better this and better that and complain when the time comes to pay for it. Most of all, we pay for some damn war the yanks started.
