I would have like you to have added that because our government is as useless as tits on a chicken we are forced to take matters into our own hands and then cc the useless ones. Otherwise I like your initiative PatriotPete.

    Further...,

Would it not be a better idea to not use those kind of petitions though? Why not set one up through your own site that way there may be more people interested in signing rather that having their personal information displayed on line?

I like this petition, and I think it should be cc'd to all our government MP's, PM as well. As for the personal info, can't you opt out of that being shown?

I've been thinking about this petition and I wonder why we are not addressing our own government rather than sending this direct, after all we pay our government to represent us. We should be petitioning them to abrogate NAFTA now, rather than indirectly telling our government through a third party. It is somehow similar to your boss firing you through a customer, because you signed them on to a bad deal! So I agree in theory but our argument is really with our own government and their lack of thought in signing it in the first place, and second place in not abrogating it many years ago. Really we should be taking this up with the Conservatives who started it, and the Liberals for not keeping their promise to abrogate it when they got elected to a majority government under Chretien!

I know in BC when I was getting signatures for a petition you had to have peoples addresses to make them valid. You can understand that really because I could have made up names and signed them myself, sort of like the Cons and Libs do when padding party memberships with dead animals and such. Freaks! :)

And I don't mind the people going over Paul Martins head and direct to Bush and then cc to let him know he's in the loop but only because we said he could be.

...signing and sending the petition directly to Pres. Bush
    - sends him a message directly from empowered
Canadian citizens - something elected politicos in
Ottawa cannot and will not do. Sure a copy can be sent
to Ottawa to demonstrate just how many canadians
favour this idea of a revocation - but as someone else
said they are complete 'lackey's and sell-outs in this
regard and likely will do a fat "zero". It is us, the
Canadian people that have to show our intention to
revoke directly ...it us who must show our resistance to
continentalist integration through our actions, petitions,
this site and others, as well as our voting habits.

Well I signed it and copied the letter to my own email and sent to all MP's and PM, so they know we are serious. I think we need to make sure they hear a loud message from us.
