I urge you, in your capacity as federal minister, to take steps to provide a way that such deserters from US forces on conscientious grounds can stay in Canada. It would be in accordance with Canada's finest traditions, and our belief as a nation in personal freedom of conscience. Please do what is necessary to let them stay in Canada.
