The Revolutionaries

We have a situation here in America in 2004 than in 1775. With all the blessings of technology, we are living in a new dark age of communication with a feudal economy, governed by a fascist hypocracy, in a hybrid of people who are immoral and amoral, claim to be Christians yet know nothing of the Bible or its great teachings. In short, the majority of Americans today are ignorant, arrogant, immoral, non-religious, materialistic people, who cannot govern themselves much less anyone else.

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was and never will be . . . The People cannot be safe without information. When the press is free, and every man is able to read, all is safe."
These words were spoken by Thomas Jefferson.

With no enemy strong enough to oppose the U.S., why are all our social programs bankrupt and why is this nation at war? Why is unemployment sky high? Why is all this theft and murder taking place, and no one bats an eye? It's a rich man's game.

America was founded on the principles of Christianity. Although the founding fathers thought it best not to let a particular religion govern, such as the Roman Catholic Church had ruled Europe for over a 1000 years, that does not mean they thought people and government should be devoid of religion and its teachings. It was Thomas Paine who noted that according to the Bible, all men are created equal, that the Jews were better off when they followed God and the prophets rather than a king. Nowadays, we are governed totally by greed, money and profit. There is no religion or morality left in the government or any of its offices. That makes it legally permissible for the government to commit all kinds of theft, murder, fraud, and injustice on a regular basis, and all the underlings, employees, had better toe the mark or lose their jobs, or worse. This is what America called democracy. When behavior is motivated by profit only a lawless situation will exist. When behavior is motivated by God and morals, then a state of democracy will exist.

America is so far removed from the democratic principles on which this country was founded, that it has become a fascist state, a concentration camp fashioned and guarded by the inmates, and it has Washington and Jefferson spinning in their graves. The state of lawlessness, injustice, fraud, and corruption perpetuated by the Tribal Government, a pitiful puppet to the U.S., is so rampant on the Reservation that it has Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse spinning in their graves.

What can you do? The first step is to become virtuous. Yes, I mean you personally. You must become a moral and virtuous person and teach your children right from wrong. Secondly, you must learn the truth of the situation, and always let the truth lead. Thirdly, become honest. Fourth, start doing something constructive like planting a garden, building a house, fixing, mending, and repairing. Fifth, conserve, stop wasting lives and resources. Six, let the Spirit (God, Allah) lead in all things so you may live a good life. In other words, become religious.

You cannot solve the world's problems that have been created by the tyrants of this world. You aren't in any position to do anything about that because you have no religion, no morals, no character, no honor. You must change what you can change. Yourself. When you arm yourself with the truth and virtuous behavior, you will be a force to be reckoned with. I would suggest you start examining religion as a starting point. If you want some help with knowing what virtues are and how to get started, you may go to my web site www.lakotaperspectives.com and click on Lessons in Humanities.

At the same time, you need to start organizing yourself into communities, to seek ways to change the corrupt system that oppresses us all. You need to come together in prayer and with your virtues intact. If your interest is only money, your efforts are bound to fail. If your interest is to create a better life for yourself and your children, then I believe it will happen. Even the Bible says that through God, all things are possible.

[Note: While we are open to all opinions on this site, by reading this article one might come to the conclusion that Tom Paine blindly advocated religion and Christianity. In actual fact, his book The Age of Reason strongly critiques the Bible and Christianity from his position as a "Deist". It's a classic and a must-read for anyone who likes to ask tough questions.--Ed.]

Thank you for the editorial note. It improves the quality of the whole article. All civilizations in the past had some form of religion as a basis for their civilization, even America in the beginning. I guess the question is--is separation of Church and State good for civilization? Considering that most laws were born out of religion? And not out of laws. Only does modern man have laws begetting laws.

Most laws I believe, derive from morality; and that morality derives from the predominant religion.<p> Laws in North America come from the basic christian morality while laws in the middle east and far east are slightly different, but derive from their own moral codes.<p> <p>---<br>"If you must kill a man, it costs you nothing to be polite about it." Maybe many of the laws and morals derived form religious beliefs and texts are good and well meaning, but I do think that separation of church, synagogue, mosque, or wizard`s castle from state is essential in creating a truly free, tolerant state. I think we can combine all of the world`s various wisdoms and morals and still realize that no one religion really explains those unanswered questions of the universe.

True indeed that all the morality and wisdom of the various religions still doesn't explain everything. But the religionists don't see it that way, they'll want to make you believe it's their way and that's it. Concur, less religious governments the better.

I would be the first to agree that Bush and his neo fundamentalists ought to be separated from government entirely. What I had in mind was the beautiful Lakota religion. This is what Catlin said of them when he visited in the 1830's: "I love a people who have always made me welcome to the best they had...who are honest without laws, who have no jails and no poorhouses...who never take the name of God in vain...who worship God without a Bible, and I believe God loves them also...who are free from religious animosities...who have never raised a hand against me, or stolen my property, where there was no law to punish wither...who never fought battle with white men, except on their own ground... and o! how I love a people who don't live for the love of money!"

And religion permeated everything they did, including their government. I cannot say what or how or why Muslims have religion in their government, but, hey, it works for them, I think the U.S. should keep their long nose out of Arab business, and their dirty, sticky fingers as well. The U.S. does not have any kind of model government or religion to foist on anyone else.

I agree, I really like many of the beliefs and spirituality of first nations people! It is so in tune with nature!!

ditto!not much beats or equals the natural peacefullness and true communion with all of creation than first nations spirituality ,yet I wonder sometimes ,what got blurred in the translations about the creator(translations do that),it seems to me that the duality male/female of creation,day/night,peace/war,light/darkness,silence/sound,life/death gets minimised and forgot with a word like creator with the exclusive male connotation, hence good and evil are portrayed as opposing forces rather than complementary forces, yet without death and decay there can be no support for future life, this has a separating effect and makes certain acts taboo,as evil, but as they say, guns don't kill people, people kill people, morals is a scary word,I prefer calling the "good essence"Wizdom, the land of wizards you may say,and what do wizards do?Magic of course, the path of least resistance,as above so below...cought flying high above in a cosmic storm, the bird was fighting for his life, raptured by the currents and helpless he could only wait it out,we prayed for him, sent energy his way...and the storm died.
