U.S. Election: The World Should Also Have A Vote

While Kerry may be committing a serious political error in aligning himself with leaders from the outside world - including his new and unlikely supporter, Kim Jong Il - he is correct in assuming that the rest of the world is awaiting the outcome of the U.S. presidential elections with bated breath.

Kerry has made his criticisms of Bush's foreign policy clear, yet as far as Iraq, Afghanistan and North Korea are concerned, Kerry's policies are seen by much of the world as only a paler shade of grey.

Kerry is not much different than Bush. The industrial military corporate fascists still get their man be it Kerry or Bush. I wish Americans would wake out of their brainwashing and recognize that Ralph Nader is the BEST candidate for President. But like here in Canada, people can`t seem to break the shackles of the traditional BIG money parties.

Nothing more pathetic than two presidential candidates who were in the
same secret club - Skull and Bones. Even without the cloak-and-dagger
masonic conspiracy theories, it becomes utterly ludicrous that out of
275 million people in America, these two idiots running for pres joined
the same damn frat! Spread the net a little wider, people!

What's the bloody difference? Kerry gets to become god-emperor of
Iraq and Afghanistan and president of the world, without any blood on
his hands - yet the whole machinery under the White House doesn't
change more than twenty or thirty faces out of tens of thousands.

I almost wish Bush would win, since that way the angry majority of yanks
won't feel the problem has been solved. In fact, it's a painful hypocrisy
that only war-veteran Kerry (from the most questionable war ever) is
considered a legitimate anti-war candidate, an anti-war candidate who
in fact voted for war in Iraq, mind you... Jeez.

PS - having a website where everyone in the world votes against Bush
would probably drive the xenophobic US electorate straight into Bush's
    arms.

Hell, even Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't allowed to be president (yet) and
he's as American as Bruce Lee.

No one is suggesting that the votes count, only that they be counted. It's just a gesture. IMHO it would be fairly useless, just because anyone not in the US who likes bush(hey, it could happen) isn't about to go visit a protest site about him.

Do USAnians *know* how unpopular bush is outside of their country?

They will never know how unpopular Dubya is as long as they watch the media.

Only if, as some do, watch Canadian media, then they get a different slant on their administration.

Many Americans have posted on this and other sites that they watch our news to get the real thing, they can't count on their own media for the truth.

I agree. I watch CNN a lot, and the slant, except for Lou Dobbs, is hysterical.

Dubya himself thinks he can walk on water. What he's better at is walking on the dead bodies he sent to a war that was unwarranted and unnecessary.

Yes, the US definitely does propaganda better than most. They do it with subtlety.

Our CBC isn't doing much better with the spin, I would have thought we would get a balance there, nooooo, ctv seems a bit better. I think you have to read as much as you can, watch what you can, and then try to decipher the truth from the entirety...good luck!

Theworldvotes.org, theworldspeaks.net, and Plebiscite2004.org are all mobilizing their sites and with what I think is some very interesting content. Check them out.
