Alberta Could Open Gas Stations In U.S.

Besides calling for higher royalty rates, stricter environmental standards and a slower development pace, the document, entitled Black Gold, Clear Vision, suggests Alberta get more involved in upgrading and refining.

"This might involve building dedicated, refined products pipelines. It might even involve looking for retail options in the U.S.," the report says. "The pre-Chavez government of Venezuela did exactly this when they successfully established the Citgo chain of gas stations in the U.S."

    So where are the global warmists and why are they not jumping all over this? As we export oil and gas to the USA, presumably because we don't need it ourselves, then according to their own theory we're unnecessarily contributing to global warming and hastening the destruction of the world as we know it.

    Oil and gas must stop NOW or we're all doomed!

    What, oil and gas must be taxed because it will cause world doom, but exporting it for a quick and dirty profit is just fine?

    Rev and Burns where are you (living in Alberta perhaps)? You gotta walk the the talk or you won't ever be taken seriously.

    And where are the right wing pundits slamming this as government intervention into the marketplace? When Canada tried to nationalize our oilpatch, the pro-American business class was all over it!

    Investing in and building refineries in canada would be a good first step. Exporting finished product would make this investment feasable.
