Two of CBC TV's recently launched and heavily promoted new series have been cancelled.
Both MVP: The Secret Lives of Hockey Wives and jPod, the satiric, Vancouver-set drama based on the bestselling novel by Douglas Coupland, will not return to the CBC schedule this fall. The critically acclaimed and internationally successful drama Intelligence has also been cancelled.

That's a good reason for the powers that be to cancel it. We can't have that kind of anti-globalist propaganda being shown to the masses now can we?
They maxed out at two about 30 years ago with Mr Dressup and Friendly Giant.
This thread title pre-supposes that CBC has actually had three good shows.

oh come on now "the Beachcombers" rocked
Only because of Relic and his jet boat!

The only one that came to mind was Little Mosque On The Prairie. That one turned out to be fair to midland, but it was original.
We are evidently trying very hard to "catch up" to our best friends and neighbours (to the south)........
JPod is a great show. It's quirky and funny and smart...not the kind of thing you usually find on television. Now it will be gone.
I never liked Intelligence much, the spy-thriller/cop show not being my cup of tea, but I watched it a couple of times against my will and it was well written and well acted. Again, not the kind of thing you usually see on TV.
MVP, well I'm kind of glad to see that one gone. It was just another night-time soap.
They kept that stupid Border thingy and the bad sitcom Sophie. That last one reminds me of that seventies thing with the little girl who was a robot...possibly the worst sit-com ever. I watched the first half of the first episode, then flipped to Star Trek or Stargate or something.
Somebody needs to go and bang some heads at CBC. Their job is not to provide bad clones of bad US shows, but to give us something Canadian and, well, decent to watch. They are supposed to build an audience for quality programming, not pander to the lowest common denominator.
Rev, looks as though alphonse.ouimet is way ahead of you. See:

To such an extent that it prompted new CBC-Pres.Hubert Lacroix to confess discouragement:

Getting down to cases: I'm a major fan of Intelligence, and wa-ay beyond annoyed that it's been axed.
I write to say that if you feel the same, Teamakers says (on its front page) that you can express your disapproval by signing the petition here (Save CBC's Intelligence): http://www.petitiononline.com/cbci308/petition.html
Finally, if Teamaker's nom-de-clavier (alphonse.ouimet) sounds familiar, here's why:
