Chantal Petitclerc is the winningest Canadian athelete of them all:

Yet, as the sportswire site notes: "...she’s not getting one red cent from the Canadian Olympic Association. Bonjour la visite, merci beaucoup now leave."

Our "whole" olympians collect bucks for gold, silver, and bronze. Our paralympians, nada! Is Harper and his Conservative government somehow embarassed by our paralympians?

Is this (in the Conservatives' collective mindset) faintly reminiscent of the 1936 Berlin Summer Games, with Chantal reprising the role of Jesse Owens, applauded (as he was in Berlin) for what she has done in the Beijing Games, but never-the-less discriminated against at home?

So why isn't the officially-sanctioned "encouragement" there for ALL our atheletes?

Upon winning her 5th gold medal in Beijing (14th in her career) Chantal Petitclerc is Canada’s most decorated athlete ever. She is incredibly popular in China.

Yet, she’s not getting one red cent from the Canadian Olympic Association. Bonjour la visite, merci beaucoup now leave.

How can we possibly accept a two-tiered system for our athletes? Either you pump cash incentives for all athletes who compete for Canada or we don’t.

Oh, yes. two tier everything! That`s what our government likes! They`ll likely politicize itv in classic divide and conquer fashion, and frame it as 'Quebec athlete gets cold shoulder from the feds.'
