Harper To Meet With Premiers On Economy Nov 10

Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper will meet on Nov. 10 in Ottawa with the country's provincial premiers to discuss the economic slowdown.

Harper promised the gathering after he won re-election on Oct. 14. During the campaign, the prime minister rejected the idea of using major new spending programs or tax cuts to boost short-term growth. The meeting was confirmed today in an e- mailed statement from Harper's office...
