Absent 'burning Ambition,' Manley Snuffs Liberal Leadership Bid

John Manley has told his Liberal party supporters he won't run to succeed outgoing leader Stephane Dion.

The former deputy prime minister joins Frank McKenna as the second Liberal heavyweight to decline the leadership race.

Manley, 58, told friends and supporters in an e-mail Tuesday that he "lacked the burning ambition" to run such a campaign after more than four years in the private sector.
