Pavlovian Payoff for Media Lapdogs
Op-Ed by Jeff & Diana Jewell

Within Harper's hasty betrayal of his widely proclaimed principle of not appointing unelected senators lies a much more ominous bi-partisan trend than the traditional partisan packing of the senate.
Two of the senatorial sinecure recipients are celebrities from the corporate news media. And Harper's Conservatives are simply continuing the practice of the two previous PMs from the Liberal party, who each appointed a corporate news celebrity to the sinecure of Governor General.
With any intelligence and integrity, news professionals must know that in the controlled game of Canadian democracy, the Liberal-Conservative duopoly (which has maintained a lock on the power of government throughout our history) is simply a front organization for perpetual rule by the Canadian Establishment, a ruling class that is referred to in most countries as the oligarchy. As such, the electoral and parliamentary stage play of the Liberal-Conservative duopoly is about as honest as a professional wrestling match.
While the fringe parties do their best to oppose the Liberal-Conservative duopoly, they are effectively marginalized by the distortions of the will of the people through the systemic defects of the first-past-the-post voting system, along with the fixation of the corporate media on the 'horse race' between the puppets leading the Liberal-Conservative duopoly. Along with the common practice of 'strategic voting', where many frustrated voters are coerced into voting for the 'lesser of evils' of the Liberal-Conservative duopoly, the media manufactured public perception that only the Liberal-Conservative duopoly can win is translated into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The news professionals of the corporate media are entrusted and desperately needed to serve as the public watchdog to discover the truth, and to expose lies and the abuse of power. Yet none of the corporate media has revealed the truths about how Canadian democracy is essentially a rigged game, whereby the people are hornswoggled into giving their power over to the puppets of the Liberal-Conservative duopoly, who routinely abuse the public trust in service to their true masters, the Canadian Establishment.
The reason for the betrayal of their public trust by both the corporate media and the Liberal-Conservative duopoly is of course pretty obvious. Both are assets of the oligarchy, and their careers are dependent upon faithful service to the Canadian Establishment.
So the appointment of corporate news media celebrities to prestigious positions in public service should be seen as a Pavlovian payoff, made by a loyal asset of the oligarchy to other loyal assets of the oligarchy. It is a reward for betraying the public trust, and a powerful incentive for the next generation of media mouthpieces to perform similar services as lapdogs for the elite rather than watchdogs for the public.
All citizens ought to be outraged by such coziness between the corporate news media and politicians, as a blatant sign of betrayal and conflict of interest.

CTV is known as the Conservative Television and CBC have become the voice of which every political party is in power. The media have no investigative reporters , they broadcast more news if that is what they want to call it out of the USA, while our Canadian crooks put the screws to us.
As an injured worker I have been trying to get this excuse of a media here in Canada to take up the challenge and investigate the Workers Compensation System... but then again , one must keep in mid that these media broadcasters are some of the very business who benefit from this vile bad faith Workers Compensation System.
Now what is this great "government " giving us ? Well a Canadian Human Rights Museum of course , what a joke . Yes what a joke , when every injured worker in Canada is being denied the rights that other citizens enjoy , the right to equal treatment before the law. Bullshit, we live in a fascist society disguised as a democracy.
I say when they build this Canadian Human Rights Museum every injured worker who can should dump buckets of pigs blood all over it. This Museum is nothing more than a monument to a bunch of egotistical political assholes, their business bums and unions jerks who have spent their life putting the screws to injured workers in this county, nothing more.
