That somebody with money would use it to stop such slander is not surprising, and Google's actions aren't either in such legal cases. For those who remember, I posted long ago about Charles Leblanc, an NB blogger who essentially is the ONLY independant 'media' in that province where Irving owns all the print media and most of the radio. Because he refused to take down some Irving articles the entire blog was shut down and disappeared by Google. That part isn't surprising (he continuously refused to stop posting entire copyrighted articles), however, it was impossible to get hold of anybody at Google to rescue the thousands of articles, blogs, and pictures, which were the ONLY account of our battle for residential tenants rights. (recently, and arbitrarily, it has again been posted after a year).
So my point is that you can't believe everything somebody says. Here's a link for more useful information:

It isn't that surprising though. I watched a documentary on Frank Zappa, and Viktor Havel, then President of the newly UNcommunist Czechoslovakia was a fan who met Zappa and wanted him to be a 'cultural attache' to the US. Zappa's anarchic views (another word for 'democracy') were so extreme to the US that they sent then secretary of State (damn, forget his name) over to see Havel offering all kinds of trade,but ONLY if they dumped all connections with Zappa.
That the legal system can commit such atrocities is no surprise to poor people, natives, or protestors of course, but again, when somebody yells 'fire', sometimes its best to check for smoke.
