Posted on Tuesday, February 17 at 09:02 by NAUWATCH

Food safety and the economic devastation for thousands of Canadian farmers in the wake of the North American Free Trade Agreement were raised during the NDP's Food for Thought campaign stop here Saturday.

MPs Alex Atamanenko (NDP-- B.C. Southern Interior) and Joe Comartin (NDP--Windsor-Tecumseh) met with a group of farmers, fishermen and community activists.

Atamanenko is going cross-country to gather information to help his party craft a better farming and food safety policy.
