Canadian Military Units To Undertake “Domestic Security”

Posted on Thursday, March 12 at 09:14 by NAUWATCH

The Canadian military is reorganizing its priorities to suit a “post 9/11-world,” by creating reservist units for each area of the country that would be tasked with providing “domestic security,” and involve roles such as the mass internment of citizens in the event of a terrorist attack.

“The Canadian military has embarked on a wide-ranging plan to turn its reserve soldiers into focused units trained and equipped to respond to a nightmarish array of domestic threats,” reports the National Post.

“The remodeling of the reserves will see the development of specialist units in four of the military’s regional divisions — Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario and the West.”

Hmmm. Here it come? The fear driven repression as a conseqUence of standing to close to the goddamn US, fighting its imperial wars in the Middle East, and lining up against their enemies as if they were our own.

What bloody fools the ruling class and their politicians have been in this country. What sheep the country has been as a whole.

    Too bad.

These political parties and their elite members are getting afraid of the people, they know that when Canadians get pissed off they will not take this bullshit lying down. I am hearing much chatter right now about how people are starting to get very concerned about the possibility of "government" / the political party using the taxpayers military and police against them.

Politicians have stopped coming to our doors because they fear what might be on the other side of that door. I say keep the bastards out and remove yourself from the voters list.

And they have been for quite a while, at least since I heard a report on CBC's "As It Happens" about 40 years ago (during Trudeau's time), about how a major purchase of the military back then was anti-riot vehicles......

I say, fight, fight, fight, kids! Just an example of what`s going on- Even though Canadians have overwhelmingly stated that they want public health care not only preserved, but enhanced to include homecare and pharmacy, (remember the Romanow Report) here in southern Ontario, the fascists want to close the hospitals in Fort Erie, Port Colborne, and rumoured Hagersville, Dunnville, and Grimsby. Now, the good news is, that the doctors in Petrolia, Ontario, threatened to resign if their hospital was closed, so, this action stopped the closure of the Petrolia hospital. But we need more thaqn doctors stepping up to the protest. We need average Canadians stepping up! It was good to see the protest in Oshawa today! All Canadians need to unite and SHUT DOWN THE COUNTRY in order to reverse these fascist tactics of slavery! Save public health care! Save jobs! Make post secondary education accessible for all! And scrap NAFTA!!!

    Amen, brother.

What says to me, as this EI demonstration in Oshawa yesterday points to, that there will be no choice in the end, but for masses of Canadians to respond, is that this process of economic disintegration will continue until they bloody well do, plain and simple. It's just a question now of, how much will Canadians stand still for before they do move?

We know already that it's a fairly shocking amount, I know, but make no mistake, there is a line in the sand out there... and demonstrations like that in Oshawa help show us more precisely where it is.

The meeting of the G20 the other day, also in Ontario if I remember correctly, made the declaration that these 20 capitalist countries are prepared to do "whatever it is we have to do, to save the financial system". The financial system being capitalism, of course. And no doubt they bloody well are prepared to do whatever they have to.

But you know that "whatever we have to" does not involve improving the situation of the capitalist countries' working class, putting more money/purchasing power into their pockets, transferring it to the working class from the wealthy, and into the pockets of the poor and unemployed, or improving the social benefits available to them, such that they can actually go out and exert the demand pull on the economy that it needs right now, to actually get production of goods and services up and running again. No. What they mean is that they will continue to transfer more and more public dollars into the coffers of the ruling class already wealthy, transferring ever more collective lower strata tax dollars to the richest, and indebting the coming generations of the ordinary citizenry, so that they, the ruling class wealthy, can themselves survive and ride the times out in the styles to which they are accustomed, while the working class stratas pay the price and suffer.

We too then have to be prepared to do "whatever it takes" to behead this ruling class view of the world, and their self-serving solutions to the crisis, for there are a choice of options here, as there near always is, OR, failing to do so, the consequence for this timidity of the working class, they must then be prepared to mangez de la merde. So the choice then is to develop a taste for "eating shit" or rise up.

No doubt, some, the meek of the earth, perhaps even a good many will be prepared to "mangez de la merde", but I'm still betting most will not.

(The meek do not inherit the earth anyway. They merely get used as door mats by everybody else.)

    PS

Anyone remember who told striking postal workers to "Mangez de la merde"?

My history is a bit hazy, but wasn't the last lot of terrorism that threatened Canada the Fenian Raids, and didn't they come from the Southern Empire?

The US constitution included the right to bear arms as a way to enable the public to challenge the power of the military, if the military got out of hand. The navy is also barred from law enforcement there, but they found a loophole by having a qualified law enfarcement guy with them.
Now we see the real reason for the gun registry, and why uncle Sam licking Harper has made no real effort to scap it.
This is part of the reason Uncle Sam blew up the World Trade Centre. It gave big Brother the ability to make a huge power grab at the expense of freedom, unchallenged.
