What is the flu? Influenza (the flu) is a serious contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. Millions of people in the United States get the flu each year. Most people are sick for about a week. Some people (especially young children, pregnant women, older people, and people with chronic health problems) can get very sick and may die from the flu. Bonanza for the Pharmaceutical Conglomerates

I wonder how much Big Pharma spends on lobbying each year, as well as media advertising.....?

Its also quite amazing that no one is paying attention to the 5000+ people worldwide who are murdered EVERY DAY by another lab created virus. Anyone? Anyone? HIV/AIDS. You can do the math yourselves. http://www.avert.org/worldstats.htm I am however suspect the figures being marginalized since the stats are being provided us by none other than UNAIDS and the equally diabolical WHO.

Today I also heard a stat of 1000+ Americans killed daily from cigarette smoking illnesses. Imagine that!

The scary thing is it may mislead efforts to come up with a vaccine for more common flus which kill tens of thousands each year and divert the effort for a media driven smoke and mirrors flu.

divert the effort for a media driven smoke and mirrors flu
Or APPEAR to divert, thus give them cause to whine to government for yet more bailout money.
