Conservative ads go personal on Ignatieff

The Conservatives are going personal on Michael Ignatieff as they try to boost slumping poll numbers at the expense of the Liberal leader.

Iggy is like a guy claiming his love for his wife, while being shacked up with the lady next door for 30 years. Not much credibility in his nationalist claims. More of a yank wannabe who wants to make us all into yanks.

Canucks are all ready divided in reality. What's the difference between a Con/Lib coalition, and an NDP/Lib/Bloc coalition.........?

The jury is still out on who Ignatieff really is and it's up to him to sell himself and hopefully his ideas . I honestly don't like very much what I've seen so far , but it's still early days .
One thing we can't blame on him is his five years at Harvard . It's almost a tradition there that (not coincidentally , I think ) some of the best professors are Canadians . At the business school Canadian John MacArthur from Vancouver , B.C. was an impressive and much respected dean for over 10 years . He's remained as Canadian as good maple syrup and still says "shedule" and not 'skedule". Hope Iggy is the same kind of guy . Let's leave him the benefit of the doubt for a (short) while.

    Good point. Rick.

The LIBS will probably win the next election, the CONS will get rid of Harper, but will anything really change. NOPE.

No matter how you look at this guy Michael Ignatieff, he reminds me of just how abusive the Liberal Party of Canada are. Here we have a Canadian political party that in 1966 , 1967 used the power of Govwernment to approve the use of Agent Orange and then in 1968 under the leadership of Pierre Trudeau, the Liberal party of Canada approved the testing of Mustard Gas on Canadian soldiers.

So is this the kind people we want in power ? No thank you, I have been abuse and ignored by this party. Please keep in mind that all political parties work in similar ways, they use the power we entrust in them to set in place regulations that abuse. It is time we all turned away from this political system.

Nova Scotia has always been taken for granted for their obsesion for voting for a right wing party, no matter what. They go from right wing Liberals to even further right wing Conservatives, then back again. Both are corporate parties. As long as they are to cowardly to try the NDP, they will get no attention from the right wingers, who can take their support for granted.

"As long as they are to cowardly to try the NDP, they will get no attention from the right wingers, who can take their support for granted."

Refusing to stick one's fingers into moving fan blades isn't cowardice, but good sense. Likewise with not voting NDP.

As for Brent's opinion of Ignatieff...

"More of a yank wannabe who wants to make us all into yanks."

Well, you certainly presented the argument more concisely than Laxer. Although I'm not sure you can match Laxer's passionate hatred of America and all its works (or his equally passionate love of state ownership).

I don't want to be a "yank". But I don't want to be an "anti-yank" either. We should neither blindly accept nor blindly reject an idea simply because it comes from our southern neighbour. There's a lot they can learn from us, but the reverse is true too.

So, you support a decining voter turnout? Voting for either Libs or Cons is sticking one's fingers into moving fan blades as well.........

Today I registered a complaint with my local Conservative MP, with regard to the infantile TV ads that his party is putting out. If Canadian politics is to be reduced to the kindergarten level it is understandable why adults do not vote.
