Forget Seals What About Bears And Wolves

Posted on Sunday, March 05 at 11:25 by eugene
Oh and here is an irony the annual Grizzly hunt began this month in Alberta but the government department in charge of the annual hunting license draw has no news on its web site. The last news update from the Department of Alberta Sustainable Resources is from December 2005. December. Shows how important Sustainable Development and Wildlife protection is in Alberta. Hey, Eugene.

You may want to check your facts. Firstly, 'white coat' baby seals haven't been culled for over 20 years.

Second, SRD suspended the Spring Bear hunt for 3 years, to give time for the bear census and DNA testing to ocurr.
White coats are still used for PR and propaganda purposes and thats a fact jack. And I said seals. I did not say whit coats.

I posted this story several days ago on my blog and it only got posted here today so no it did not discuss the decision by the Klein government to put a moratorium on the stupid Grizzly hunt. Though Sustainable Resources (sic) did not deem to identify the Grizzly as 'threatened" let alone "endagered" so this could just be an attempt to increase the bear population for a later cull. And you forgot the stupidity of the Wolf cull now going on, which blames an increase in the wolf population for the decline in Wood Mountain Caribou. The reality is the incroachment by forestry and oil projects have disrupted the caribous grazing areas.

And so maybe its not me that needs to get the facts straight but the Green NGO's and the Superstars who use the Seal Hunters as their fund raising whipping boys.

Sorry, I totally agree. Before I wrote that, I had just watched Williams vs McCartney on CNN. Man, is Sir Paul being played like a banjo.

It was not your column, but that program that confused me.

Quit lying. No protest has been cancelled and people cannot be everywhere at once. People don't do something they are targeted and then targeted again when they do. Get your facts straight. The grey seal hunt, the one your other article was about, went on despite losing 75% of newborns to the storms. Another 220 were killed illegally in a wilderness preserve. I asked you to back up your last article and still you maintain your psoition without proof.
The harp seal hunt has yet to begin and that was the one McCartney was here to protest against. It is not all fundraising though I would like to see you run a campaign strong enough for Canadians to hear, for free.
