Thanks 4Canada for this excellent submission. This issue of the United Nations being vital to prevent the global nuclear holocaust (-vs- the BMD "tech fix" solution) is a vital one. The pun is intended. This story is also very much about Canadian Sovereingty IMHO and am glad that Dyer is such a bright Canadian lightbulb. Beats Don Cherry amongst the top-10 for sure. I wish our federals would listen more to Dyer than the Cherry-likes goon wannabes. Further stretching the topic: what is happening to hockey is a very powerful metaphor that we should learn from.

Dyer is almost there, but he refuses to say that America went into Iraq to control the oil of the Middle East.

that's because the US did not go into Iraq to control oil in the mid-east

No you are absolutely right. Halliburton did. I stand corrected. As they say: "Bypass the middleman, vote for Halliburton". Gee, I wonder if the merchants of war have a vested interest in ensuring that the United Nations is constantly undermined and fail. It is bad when the cronies and lackeys you have appointed at the UN (or elsewhere) turn against you. But then you can sell more weapons. So there is a significant upside.

BTW Vive Editors, this story is an excellent example of something that should have been Canadian Sovereignty front page. Was it perceived as too far fetched???

Was this not a front page article? I have opted for all the articles to show front page so I can't tell anymore. I get suspicious however when no one responds to the submission. Not that that *never* happen before.

It did become front page later on in the day. I did not quite realize that it first had to be posted before becoming front page. BTW have been told recently that quantity does not matter but quality does. Hence should not worry too much about discussion following a good post or article. 4Canada: thanks for your posting again.
