Canada's Central Bank Scam

I'm not sure of the implications of this as finance is not my strong point, but does this indicate that we could see the usual, "Oh my, we just can't follow through with that medical plan we promised nor can we cut taxes, nor can we help the cities, because the Liberals lied. There is no surplus."?

Prime Minister Paul Martin's Badly Kept Secret

An intriguing secret overhangs the federal election. Our Prime Minister appeared to have everything in the bag, so utterly was his control of information. He knew exactly what had brought on the financial bust of the late 1980s, and how the banks had been bailed out by enabling them to quadruple their holdings of federal government bonds by being able to acquire them without putting up any of their own money. The statutory reserves - were some 8% to 10% of the deposits the banks received in their chequing accounts that had to be redeposited on an interest-free basis with the Bank of Canada. Such reserves had been abolished in a bill sneaked through parliament in 1991 without debate or press release.

The CAP and the NDP are the only parties that seem to have mentioned monetary reform in their platforms. This should be one of the most important issues in the current election, yet still there is little discussion of this....anywhere! Kudos to any and all who raise this issue and inform others about the importance of how our money works (as well as how we can return it to the control of ALL the people).

Really?! I didn't tyhink the NDP was touching the banking-system with a twenty foot poll.

According to the NDP's platform document under the heading "Jack Layton and Canada's NDP will give Canada clear choices on debt reduction by"(Pg.63):

"Bringing some of Canada's national debt under the control of the Bank of Canada, as it used to be, and paying the interest to ourselves as opposed to chartered banks."

NO wonder Layton isn't popular in the corporate media.

Check out my latest post. The NDP is advocating using the Bank of Canada for the purpose of keeping our debt under control, among other things.

That's the way it was, and should be in the future.

The private banks are about profit, for their shareholders, not the average Canadian.

No kidding, the "Media Darlings" hate the idea of profits lost to make Canada better !

Corporations own the US administration, do we really want that in Canada ??

Low paying jobs, sending good jobs overseas, part-time work with no benefits, contract jobs, at the end of which you cannot collect EI beneits.

What a way to run a country !

Corporations first ? Not on a bet !!

It would be nice if this issue was raised in the upcomming TV debates. There has been some talk about the issue of leadership and vision (or lack thereof) in the current election. Using the dabate, any of the candidates could shore up some of those desired "undecided" voters with a dazzling performance.

That being said, I'm not holding my breath.

    Hello everyone

Just to let everyone know that besides CAP who is the Ultimate party espousing the use of the Bank of Canada and The NDP who has finally come on board, is the green party which states as one of its policies since before the election " Increase Bank of Canada investments in Canada, easing the burden of the federal debt".

So just giving credit where credit is due. I just don't want to freeze out any potential support for the One Big Party Concept.

Good point! Several other smaller parties, have called for a revision of the role of the Bank of Canada.

Speaking of which, Edward Slota of The Global Party of Canada (www.globalpartycanada.ca)is running in my riding (Beaches-East York) as an independent candidate. In a press release from June 6th (see PRWEB) he said that:

"The money machine today is completely shaped by the market beyond any form of democratic control. Democracy started to die when politicians “sold out” the power of the Bank of Canada in favour of private banks and foreign interests. Now democracy is sick and corrupt and pathetically inept in the face of the true power, which is the financial power of the rich one percent under the umbrella of the United States."

I just heard Ed Slota speaking on the CBC. Perhaps he was nervous, but he wasn't able to speak cogently about monetary reform and seemed to have only a superficial understanding of the existing economic system (at best). Don't waste your vote...

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough for you in my CBC interview, but I would like to respond as to why I am 'worth a vote' on June 28th.

Just like many of you I believe that money reform is about changing economic rules and changing the society that exists today to the kind of society that citizens actually want. In case you are not aware, I founded the Global Party of Canada and as an Independent in the riding of Beaches-East York I promise to ensure that every man, woman and child will receive $1,500.00 per month, and an additional $1,500.00 per month if disabled, retired or going to school, as part of a general restructuring of the economic system.

Furthermore, there would be no more taxes to pay, and we would feel assured that ample money is available to increase all last year’s budgets - such as health and welfare, education…etc - by 50 percent.

Did you know that in other ridings across Canada, on election day, you can “park” your vote with the Green Party of Canada? Subsequently, through this relationship with the Greens, each individual member may vote, their ‘parked’ vote, or not, for the Global Party of Canada.

Learn more about the party that I founded and money reform at www.globalpartycanada.ca. And, this Monday, I hope you will choose the only viable alternative and vote for money reform by voting for Edward Slota, in Beaches-East York, and elsewhere please 'park' your vote with the Green Party.

Thank you, and please contact me personally at freedom@globalpartycanada.ca.

    Sincerely,
    Edward Slota
