This sounds like something we should run an action on--something similar to the Canadian census action. Thoughts?

You are right Susan we need to speak up against this, but first we need to know, by what authority the U.S. will be given access to our records. Is the department of Revenue Canada offering this up, or what king-pin made this decision? Need more info, and then we can start writing to government officials, demanding answers. Isn\'t there someting in our privacy, rights and freedoms act that prevents this info from being released?

this also smacks of police state, all your personal finacial and very personal info about you, everything you tell revenue canada, will be given to a foriegn country. Name me any other country on this planet that has given the American government their citizen\'s personal finacial data ?
Also just think, that some american at a boarder crossing with maybe a IQ of 10 will be scrolling through your life, you sin number, how much you make, how much you are worth, everything, and could there not be temptation for you to be robbed, or identity thief ?
Also suppose someone hacks into their system which has already happened so i have read, and takes this info and uses it, what a nightmare.
This info was supposed to be personal, and confidential, now revenue canada is going to give it away, and how will it prevent terrorism ?
Also, are the politicians and the very wealthy exempt from their personal finacial info being given to the Americans ?
I suggest is to spread the word around, let all know, because this story was caught by fluke, because i did not notice this in any other media, has anyone notice this story in any other media?
And write your local MLA and ask him or her what is all this?
I am the one who found this story and presented it to this site.

Where did Canada's leadership GO? I regret not taking a political career path. If there was more Canadian history which would have kept me more interested in history class. I would have probably became more involved in politics and have been a voice to issues such as this one.

I'm only learning about Canada's history now, and I can't get over how much they don't teach about Canada in the schools. No wonder so many are willing to vote for parties that are allowing a U.S take over. Many Canadians I guess see Canada as already being a U.S state cause that's all they learnt in schools was mostly U.S history.

Our country is the biggest looser of the world and this new issue of allowing the U.S to see our records is just roguish. It just seems like one decision after another is bringing us to the U.S command. I hope that I won't have to tell my future kids the story behind why we are the U.S. This really bugs me to think of it.

When will Canadians wake up to the Liberal and Conservative approach to allowing the Americanization of Canada.
Kevin Gagnon My Home Page

We CAN still do something about this, but we`ve got to take ACTION! For instance, DON`T FILE YOUR INCOME TAX! PULL YOUR MONEY OUT OF THE BANKS! BOYCOTT CORPORATIONS! We have to find a way to organize this!

Dave,

How exactly would that be possible to not file income tax? For one its money that we will loose from what they already took from us. I'm o.k with them taking tax from my check as long as the tax is spent wisely from a respectable gov. Which obviously we don't have a respectable gov. But, either way its money we would loose if we don't file. And if you don't file, you end up owing money instead of recieving money.

The only think can be done. Is if we knew for sure that this would be in vialation of privacy that a large amount of Canadians get a rebel lawyer who would be willing to take on the gov and sue them for vialating our privacy.
Kevin Gagnon
My Home Page

If we don`t do something, we`ll lose alot more than a tax refund when these idiots decide to do something selfish like privatize health care!!!

    Yes Susan,

Please do take action. Get us a group letter we can send. There were laws changed without any debate right after 9/11 that some people were very upset about. Maybe this is one the new laws?

The other thing that may get some action from out govenment would be for a bunch of us to start promoting Dennis Kucinich as our leader. If the U.S. is going to have the last word I want a person that will take the actions that I support. I\'ve already sent Paul Martin an email asking him why I should vote for a Prime Minister when it\'s really the President that\'s running my world. Let\'s vote Kucinich!

4canada,

I dought there is any chance that even if Bush doesn't get back in that the next president will be any better. The truth the bilderberg group will make sure the right president gets in. Sadly enough there is no stoping this.
Kevin Gagnon
My Home Page
