Con-Federation

The press in Canada spews out, what the Canadian Government pours in to their mix of allowable discourse. They are like sheep being led to slaughter and suggesting any of us, that think for ourselves are anti Canadian or against social programs or just plain pro American (the worse insult from a left leaning press)! Witness how our tax dollars were spent on CBC to totally discredit Fox News as a right wing American chauvinistic network, dedicated to destroying everything that is right about Canada. Most Canadians having never viewed Fox News were convinced that was their agenda. We never let truth stand in the way of the media's spin. I am definitely not pro American or pro provincialists or seperatists or for that matter overly pro Canadian. I am pro reality and pro truth and for standing up for agreements that were the basis for our federation in the first place. So if you read the basis for this federation and the agreements signed and agreed to by two consenting parties, one would have to wonder is Quebec really seperating from Canada or did Canada long ago try to seperate from Quebec? In other words, Quebecers joined Canada with an understanding and did Canada try and break that understanding or did Quebec? I think one could prove conclusively the former. Just as today, Canadian central politicians concerned about their own power grabbing control over provincial issues are demonizing Premier Klien unjustly. Alberta has every right to jurisdiction over their health care, yet are threatened with Canada withholding their own tax dollars, if they do not buckle under to what central Canada's politicians dictate. Does this really seem just or what was agreed to upon the formation of this confederation? Once again Canadians never seem bothered by the rules or agreements getting in the way of good old fashioned patriotism or nationlism. It is no wonder Ben Johnson, the biggest cheat in Olympic history, heralded from Canadians attitudes towards following the rules or agreements! So if we truly want to save Canada, the Canada that was formed and agreed to by at least ten consenting parties with the aid and assistance of the founding nations of Canada, as history dictates, Britian and France. Let us just follow those agreements and allow each province to enjoy the rights and freedoms promised to them! It will make for a stronger and more united confederation, instead of the centrist political cheats in Ottawa grabbing power and money at any cost. Even the GST is an infringement on provincial jurisdiction and should be harmonized or scrapped as a guy called Chretien promised us, but got too busy funneling federal funds in to his province to worry about promises to Canadians! Charlie Flynn
