Drunken party leads to slaughter of rare animal After the acts of torture, of rape, of abuse of power, of war crimes, of mass murder, the fact that a rare tiger is shot in its cage in Baghdad zoo comes as no surprise. http://english.pravda.ru/mailbox/22/101/397/14569_tiger.html

This is the absolutely sickest thing the Americans have done. I am totally outraged that the filthy bastards (Americans) killed an innocent caged tiger. This is the epitomy of evil. Here is what I just read in an e-mail:
Fallujah refugee who said, “There are dead bodies on the ground and nobody can bury them. The Americans are dropping some of the bodies into the Euphrates River near Fallujah. They are pulling the bodies with tanks and leaving them at the soccer stadium.”*

Like I said, and Tony Black Feather said, "Americans enjoy killing. They are cold blooded killers who kill stupidly and senselessly--even when they are not following orders."

I found this post on the Internet:

Just one more nail in the war against Weapons of Mass Destruction. Also one tiger less means a USA that is much safer for all its paranoid, and brainless citizens!

"After six-year-old children have their limbs blasted off them for being "insurgents", now a defenseless animal in a cage is shot. For being a terrorist?"

Where are the anons and Michael Scott's of the world defending the actions of the American Soldiers now? The fact that they are allowed to walk around drunk with guns is a question of American leadership/control/authority in itself. Then to have the drunken idiot with a gun in a zoo? What does that say for the freedom fighters???

Cultural sensitivity too. Iraq is an Islamist country, and alcohol is forbidden.

I didn't even think about that! Wow...what has happened to the US under GWB, and his neoCons (Wolfowitz, Cheney, Rumsfield, etc)! It's time the American people did something, before the rest of the world does something about them!

Is this the second time they've done this or a reprint? I can remember a drunken soldier killing one of the zoos tigers not too long after the USUK coalition invaded Iraq.

Yes, it is the 2nd time. Was it April of 2003?

This is certainly a despicable act and the soldiers involved will almost certainly face disciplinary action if the facts are what they are reported to be so far. And therein lies the difference between other military forces and American or Western military forces - soldiers get charged if they commit a crime and we all hear about it on the news because we have an open society. And this is how it should be. That soldier should and probably will go to jail.

We don't get news out of Sudan where gov't forces and their militias systematically slaughter black Africans - so no outrage there, especially if it can't be used to make the Americans look bad. Those troops will never face charges or even much condemnation from liberal westerners who prefer to wash their hands of that mess by citing the sovereignty of nations. And that's pathetic.

I'm afraid the rest of the World is going to have to, since Americans have proven themselves totally incapable of self-government.

    Janis,

I looked at Dr. Caleb's links to google and it was Sept./03.
    Along with:
The artifacts. The architecture. The institutions. In comparison we have nothing. I feel like someone as dull as Bush would gleefully destroy the rich, deep history of the Middle East, just because he couldn't handle another culture out classing his USArtifucts. His collection of old coke and Johnny Walker bottles.
