Security Goes To Lowest Bidder

Maybe not. Consider security services at Canada’s major airports. Most of us know the country’s major airports have been privatized in the past decade, if only because they look better. But privatization changed more than how airports look; they also changed how they work, particularly in the realm of security. Those screening officers checking your bags are not government employees with strong unions and job security — instead they’re working for private companies who’ve won the contract through a low-bid tendering process. http://www.thetelegram.com:80/index.cfm?sid=57194&sc=80
