Canadian Action Party Announces New Alberta VP

Posted on Wednesday, July 06 at 00:45 by whelan costen
Ms Fogal states that since the party has begun a renewed growth on the political scene, having an active member from Alberta as vice president was a logical move. Ms Fogal, expressed enthusiasm over this decision, as she says, "Catherine is very active in the political scene, she has great vision, tremendous passion and brings that enthusiasm and vision to the party. We are thrilled to have her as a candidate and as Vice President, she will have more authority and influence on the future of the party. We think this is an important move, to raise the profile in Alberta and ensure that Canadians realize there is a real solution for Canada, hope, vision and choice. CAP is a grassroots driven party and we are recruiting candidates and members now, so that we can be a viable alternative for Canadian voters, before the next Federal election." Ms Whelan Costen accepted the position, stating, "I can't think of anything more important at this point in history, than to stand for my country. The majority of Canadians are not even aware that our status as a sovereign nation is at risk, or that our water, natural resources and quality of life, are seriously in jeopardy. The family farm is threatened like never before and that means our food supply is on the line. CAP has real solutions, and that is what attracted me to the party; there is no point in crying over the mistakes made by previous governments. The real challenge is to ensure we don't keep repeating them!" Congratulations and good luck Catherine. You have one tough job ahead of you, but I believe you are up to the challenge. Go get 'em! I can't think of anything that would be better for democracy in Canada than for you to be elected to Parliament.

Thank you so much everyone, you are terrific! You are also right I have my work cut out for me, time-management will take on a whole new meaning. I think it's worth it, we haven't much time to educate the public on those things that matter to Canadians, so I will be busy!

Way to go! Just don't forget to keep us updated here at vive. I am sure everyone will be interested in knowing what you are working toward.

Nevermind if some people think you might use this site as a tool for your party. You should! Every politician uses whatever means they can to promote themselves and their party. They would be crazy not to.

Thanks Footprints, actually I am using the party, to raise awareness on the issues threatening Canada. The truth is I never aspired to be a politician, I am a writer, and I enjoy it immensely. But my writing led me to write to politicians on matters that concerned me, then I read Mel Hurtig, I wrote to him, he led me to vive, way back when. Vive gave me a vehicle for my voice, my opinions and started to feed my political interests. So you see joining a party was the natural progression for me, and hopefully other visitors on vive will feel the passion to move beyond the writing, to taking stronger action in their communities and politics in general.

After all it is our country and vive's mission is to keep it soveriegn, and so is it the mission of Canadian Action Party. I think it would be stranger for me to disappear from vive now, and say thanks I no longer wish to participate, when the message is the same. I appreciate the feedback and differing views. Of course that is my opinion, if the vive members and or board feel otherwise, I am sure they would tell me. I never came to vive to use it as a stepping stone for my political aspirations, it just happened, because the theme is the same. As I said, I didn't have those aspirations, I was approached by political parties, in part, because of my strong voice on vive, to promote Canada.

If Paul Martin or Steven Harper, or Jack Layton were to submit info to vive, I am certain it would be posted, so far I haven't seen anything from them. Should I end up getting elected, I will submit to vive from Ottawa, although I probably wouldn't have time to be as active on the board; but that is just hopeful thinking! Thanks again.
