Class War In Iran

The right likes to challenge the left to show solidarity with Women and workers in Iran, which we do contrary to their allegations, such as the case in Canada with support for Nazanin Fateh. Which I have seen no Blogging Tories write about. "Islamic Regime's thugs attack and assault attendants of the peaceful Women's March In Iran" http://plawiuk.blogspot.com/2006/06/class-war-in-iran.html

You mean, thre's a struggle with woman's rights here in Canada? Well, that's surely caused by women themselves, n'est pas? If they would give up trying to be "equal", and recognized their place in the grand scheme of things, all would be calm.

Was listening to CBC's Almanac on 25th Aug. and the subject matter was the difficulty of finding daycare, and the absolute insult that Harper's $100/month childcare allowance was, considering the average daycare cost was in the $700 range.

It occurred to me sometime during the program that Harper's plan to help working parents was actually working perfectly. He believes that women have no place in the workforce, should in fact be at home and in the kitchen. By offering up a sum that is completely inadequate to the task, and by severely underfunding infrastructure in the area of daycare, he is de facto forcing one parent of the other to quit work to take care of their children.

Granted, this seeming gesture of "help" is but an opening salvo in Mr. Harper's Gender Wars, but it is an effective one.

As usual the neocons are total Julius Streicher-like liars. I wrote in my blog about the Workers Communist Party of Iran,<a href="http://www.wpiran.org/English/english.htm">http://www.wpiran.org/English/english.htm</a> who if it weren't for Bush creating national solidarity around the Mullahs with his war threats would probably be leading the Iranian revolution right now.
