In Canada, The Term "Golddigger" Has Just Undergone A Sex Change.

Pictures of MacKay, as the "dumpee" healing at his father’s farm, complete with loyal, sad-looking dog at his side, were carried in daily newspapers. Completely missed by the love-struck swain during the course of that star-crossed romance was that Belinda, daughter of billionaire Frank Stronach of auto parts fame, was getting ready to stab his boss, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper in his very vulnerable blue back. Now it’s mistletoe season and "one of Ottawa’s most eligible bachelors" is dating another blonde billionairess. "This time it’s Sophie Desmarais of the wealthy Power Corp. family." (National Post, Nov. 26). http://www.torontofreepress.com/2005/edesk112805.htm

How is this even newsworthy? It's just anti conservative mudslinging on non issues.

I thought this newsworthy because, if Harper fails this election, McKay is next in line. Then who's hip pocket will he be in?

I think not, if you read about the Desmarais family and see how they are tied to our political leaders, you should be concerned.
This is Mulroneys way of getting his man MacKay to head the Conservative party... so in very short time Peter will stick Stephen, just as he did David Orchard.

Once Peter is in , then Mulroney, Desmarais , Cretien, Martin and the inner circle in Quebec maintain control once again.
Harper wants to give Quebec a choice, either they are with Canada or they are not and he will let them vote on that issue. Should they go the issue is done, should the chose to stay.. then we will not be black mailed any longer. But with MacKay at the helm, the game continues and the sovereignty card will alway be use to avoid real issues.

But i would suggest that you run a search on Paul Desmarais, research never hurt anyone.

Why not? Paul's son Andre is already married to Chretien's daughter, France. After all, its standard practice for the nobility to marry its children into other noble families, keeping noble blood untainted by commoners while strengthening ties between the few noble families that rule the country.

    Yes that is their plan.
