Guns Across The Border

Posted on Tuesday, June 26 at 10:29 by Rural
While some say the regulation would lead to a safer border, others suggest it could have broad implications for gun control in Canada and could lead to dangerous situations. The proposed changes could open the rules to wide interpretations, Liberal MP Dan McTeague said. “[This] opens the door to a number of real concerns that I don't think police or politicians or Canadians have had a chance to look into,” he said. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070626.wguns26/BNStory/National/home

is it that these concerns of borders and sovereignty are illusions set out by the "magicians" when the reality may be something entirely different?

"The federal government is proposing to ease restrictions on foreign law-enforcement officers who carry weapons into Canada."

Sure that makes sense, allow the foxes to run free while ensuring the hens are defenseless couped up targets.

This is a textbook example of the SPP at work. I guess I'm going to have to start reading the Canada Gazette regularly again in case they try to sneak in other stuff.<br />

Our government MUST continue to enforce permits being issued. This is not something that should be taken lightly.

We are required to have the following 5 documents before we can take our firearms to the range:

A valid PAL and the accompanying piece of paper, a long term ATT, a firearm license and a club membership. That's a lot of paper to keep track of and you better have them if you are pulled over.

Thanks for the link, better have lots of time on your hands if you are going to wade through that lot! The volume and content is overwhelming. Understanding the ramifications of the change in regulations, or the proposed changes, given the bureaucratese they are written in is a challenge also. Please let us know of anything you find of interest, I will rely upon traditional and alternate news media for the time being. LOL
